Australian mystery writer Arthur John Rees (1872-1942), was born in Melbourne. He worked on the staff of the Melbourne Age and the New Zealand Herald. He went to England in his early 20s. Two of his stories were included in an American world-anthology of detective stories. Some of his works were translated into French and German.
