The Harder I Fall is one of those novels that get better as they progress, and by the end of it I found myself really happy I’d taken the time to read it.

Becca Langer comes from a small town where she’s had to deal with more than any young adult ever should. Her mother is a drunk and her father is in prison because of something he did when she was just ten years old. She was forced to grow up and now she wants to make a new life for herself and live out her dreams. It takes her a while to move on and that’s one of my main likes about this book. She doesn’t move away and instantly make a new life, it takes time and in some cases she extremely reluctant to accept anything outside of her plan. She slowly opens up and becomes more. I loved Levi, even though there were moments where I wanted to smack him silly…but other than those few lapses of sanity (clearly that’s the only explanation) he’s a great counterpart to Becca. He has a big heart and isn’t afraid to give her the help she is reluctant to ask for but clearly wants.

The beginning portion of the story sort of threw me off, it moved sort of fast and I wasn’t fond of how quickly everything was happening. However it does slow down around the 40-50% area and gives the reader time to get use to everyone and let the previous events sink in. The difficult issues that Becca deals with, and her support group is what makes the college New Adult book different from the others. She doesn’t go to school and forget about it to pursue a relationship. She’s driven and sticks to her dreams, and no one is going to take that from her.

I can’t wait to read the next book, The Deeper We Get, which is about Becca’s young brother Chad who is sixteen in this book. He’s also had to deal with a lot and I’m curious to see how he turned out after everything from this book.

    Good read.

A good story about how a person can rise above child abuse and become something.

The Harder I Fall is an incredibly emotional read.  There were so many moments when I just wanted to reach inside my Kindle and hug Becca and make things right for her and her brother.  I empathized and related to so many aspects of this story and it made the entire book that much more meaningful.

Becca is an amazing girl, intelligent and caring and strong beyond her years.  Her life has been tumultuous at best and deeply wounding at worst.  She is broken inside and she has come to accept that she will never be able to live a normal life.  That made it all the more sweet and romantic when her life began to change.  Enter Levi, an amazing guy with some issues of his own.  He starts out as the perfect Book Boyfriend, but as it always happens, there comes a time when he loses some of his shine.  But the beauty of the story doesn't end with Levi.  There is beauty in the friendships she has with her roommate Sadie and her boyfriend Julian, also Levi's best friend.  There is also the unexpected family she finds, a family that shows what family should really be about.

I'm not going to lie... the ending shocked me!  A good ending, but unexpected!

    Things to love...

--Sadie.  Kind, patient, and caring... everything a best friend should be, something that Becca needed in her life.
--Levi's parents.  And I can't explain why without spoiling a fantastic story line!
--The deep and dark issues of life.  They were dark, but they were real and poignant.

My Recommendation:  Fantastic contemporary romance!  I am reading the pre-release copy of the next book in the series, The Deeper We Get, and it is FANTASTIC!!  I gave this one a 4.5 mugs!

I'm not sure how to start this review. There's so much going through my head and even my heart right
now. Becca has had a really horrible life... and I mean seriously horrible. It's no wonder she's broken,
untrusting, and closed off. I watched Sadie and Levi and even Julian come into her life and help her
heal, slowly but surely. I can't think of anyone who deserved happiness more than she and her brother,
Chad. Broken or not, Becca was one of the strongest women ever. For her to keep moving forward
instead of giving up, well, that's truly remarkable. I'm not sure I'd have had that much strength. Levi is
amazing. He's intense, loving, caring, nurturing and everything Becca needed.

The book started out a little choppy--a little rushed in parts, but it quickly smoothed out and once we
got into what was Becca rather than everything surrounding her, I was sucked into the story. It is literally
3:12 am and I just finished this book in one sitting. I couldn't wait until morning to finish, I had to finish
now... to see if and how Becca got her happily ever after. Oh, there are definitely Kleenex moments
within the pages of this book, so be sure to have some on hand while reading.

I'd never read a book by Jessica Gibson before and I was not disappointed. I'm looking forward to
reading Chad's story and whatever else Ms. Gibson has in store for her readers in the future. She has
numerous paranormal books as well as the contemporary/New Adult books available so I'm sure I'll
have plenty to read for a while.

**I was approached by Ashley from Ms. Gibsons PR firm with a long list of books from numerous
authors to review and I chose this book by Ms. Gibson and I'm absolutely thrilled with my choice :) **

Overall 4 out of 5 stars.

This book was packed with drama. Becca is tyuly amazing. After watching her father beat her little sister to death at the age of ten she gets her brother to safety and calls the police for help. His crime haunts her and her brother, Chad, for the rest of their childhood. Her mom is resentful and an alcoholic who Becca ends up taking care of as well. Becca leaves fro college and meets a new family and find love in Levi. When Chad ends up in trouble trying to make money to keep the house, Levi's parents step in and show Becca what a true family is meant to be. This was a very sad but heartwarming story.

Becca Langer has been put through the ringer more than any girl

Becca Langer has been put through the ringer more than any girl should be. She goes off to college for a fresh start and to start a new life for her and her brother. She wants to get away from anyone who knows what happened with her family, what her father had done, what her mother is like. Until she met Levi Klein, he was a distraction she couldn't afford. Levi, however was persistent and wasn't gonna give in that easy.

I was given this book by Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock for my review. This was the first book I have read by Jessica Gibson and totally fell in love. Fell in love with the characters, the pain, heartbreak...all the emotions that are put into this book. I cried when Becca cried, I laughed when she did...etc. Jessica Gibson knows how to make it painful, loving, and heart warming. I will definitely be reading the next book and highly recommend others to also. So go and get a copy and fall hard like I did for this story, it will pull you in until the very last page!

Jessica Gibson has really out done her self with The Harder I Fall. This book is such an emotional roller coaster. I cried so much through this book, I couldn't help but fall for the characters and their stories. Becca was so strong but so vulnerable at the same time, my heart really went out to her and Chad and the hardship they've faced while growing up. I have one word to describe Levi, SMEXY!! He was just yummy!! If I had to pick a favorite character it would def be Levi, he didnt let Becca's past define her, he saw her for who she truly was. I cant say enough about this book except it's epic and that I recommend everyone read it because its just phenomenal! I can't wait to see what Jessica has in store for us with the sequel!

I was given an ARC of The Harder I Fall in exchange for an honest review.

The things that stand out for me the most in this story are the raw emotions. This poor girl has been through the ringer. She has suffered pain and turmoil and nightmares that are just awful. The way Jessica Gibson brings the reader into that emotion is just awesome. You feel her pain, you feel her joy. Her every triumph is yours, her every heartache sears your heart. She has created a story with loveable characters and realistic (unfortunately) happenings and woven them into an entertaining and captivating read. I love that she was able to help Becca grow and overcome her hardships and finally find her HEA! Well done!!
