The Perry family's new house is perfect-except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.  See more details below

Great book with a great story. Full of typical Little wackyness but with a well told and beautiful story. Little's work seems to have evolved wonderfully from pure chaos to well defined characters, plot, and true emotion. Great read recommened for fans and anyone interested in a little something different.

I thought it was one of the better Bentley Little books, less graphic gore and more story, but still frightning- great read!

This was a wonderful book.  It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.  I enjoy a good ghost story and this book clearly had all of that and more.  It has a few scenes which I had to sort of rush through, but  overall, excellent read.

I thought this was well written and very scary. I kept lights on.

This was the first book I've read by Bentley Little and now all I want to read are his books! Love his style, how he builds tension, and especially how he puts you in the minds of his characters so naturally, effortlessly. This is my new favorite book!

This is the first book i've read by bentley little, and i quite enjoyed it! I liked the characters, and the strange and unpredictable twists and turns. I finished the entire book in a few days, and i'm looking up other titles to read from this author!

Really good story. Finally a book with no grammar or spelling errors that I could tell. My only complaint is that he doesn't really need to put his political views in his horror books. If you want to put politics in a book then write a politcal book. A person just out to read a horror book should not have your political views rammed down our throats.

Not very good, you can anticipate what's going to happen and the characters are very under developed, would pass on this one.

Bentley Little has a tried and true formula - take an ordinary situation, insert weirdness, creepy atmosphere, kinky sex and stir. In a lot of his books it works really, really well (The Store), others not so much. This is one of the better ones, I read it in 2 long late night sessions because I kept saying "just one more chapter". A haunted house obviously isn't as original as some of his premises, but he does a great job with it.

Decent action, but not well explained. I have read many of Little's books and this one is not his best.

I found this book hard to put down from the first page on through the end. He's a great writer and I really look forward to any of his books coming up. I've been a long time follower/reader of his - and highly recommend him for suspense/horror!

I have read all of his novels and loved them. Not so much on this one. Too many directions taken to try and form a theory. It did not seem well thought out and the sexual situations did not even fit the story line.
