One snowy Christmas Eve, one mistletoe kiss, one friendship changed forever.

Don't underestimate the power of mistletoe. It looks innocent enough, but a single branch has the potential to change your life. One mistletoe kiss led to the most embarrassing night of my life, but thankfully by the next Christmas I ended up exactly where I was supposed to be.

The Hazards of Mistletoe is a New Adult novella that features friends Glen and Savannah. They only see each other once or twice a year but have a strong friendship that has lasted since they children. Their relationship changes from friendship into more when they kiss under the mistletoe. They hook up and unfortunately this leads Glenn breaking Savy's heart. A year passes and Glen works to earn back Savy's trust and move their relationship to the next level. This a cute, short story about friends who become more. It was quick paced, well written and overall left me eager to read the next book in the series. I was given a free copy for an honest review by netgalley.com

The Hazards of Mistletoe is the fourth book in the Hazards series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Savy and Glen are pretty adorable. Their friendship is an unusual one in that they only see each other once or twice each year, but they've become best friends by keeping in touch all through the year while apart. This was a cute little novella that put me in the holiday spirit. The Hazards of Mistletoe by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

3.5 Stars The Hazards of Mistletoe is the fourth book in Alyssa Rose Ivy's Hazards series and is a companion novel which can be read as a standalone.  Savannah and Glen are the main characters, and have a friends to lovers romance.  They only see each other once a year at Christmas, and have done so since they were children.  As they get older, their feelings change, but one night under the mistletoe threatens to destroy their friendship and anything else they might have.  Second chances don't always come easy, but whether Savy will be able and willing to go there again with Glen again remains to be seen. The Hazards of Mistletoe is a sweet novella that is a fun Christmas read that provides a couple of hours of great entertainment for those who enjoy a good Christmas romance.

A wonderful second chance romance that happens during the holidays to help get you or keep you in the holiday spirit. Savannah and Glen have been friends for 10 years but only see each other at the holidays when their families vacation in Vail for Christmas. Then one Christmas they let their feelings take them further than ever before but Glen blows it. Savannah leaves Vail broken hearted. When Christmas roles around next year Savannah would love to do anything but go to Vail but that isn't in the cards. Glen is excited to see Savannah back at Vail but can he convince her to talk to him? He knows he made a mistake so how will he push past the barriers Savannah has constructed?  Truly a fabulous story that gives you a great second chance at love story with just the right amount of angst and drama to keep you engaged and hoping for more.

The Hazards of Mistletoe is the first 'holiday' story I have read this year, not that I have intentionally avoided them, but find that they can often be sweet, to the extreme. Although saying that, I loved this novella! Alyssa Rose Ivy has successfully avoided writing a plot which revolves around instantaneous love or lust. Instead Glen and Savannah share an established friendship, which has never moved past teasing text messages, late-night phonecalls and Savannah's annual visit. Yes, I think the romance is predictable but the journey Glen and Savannah take to become a couple, is not. Alyssa Rose Ivy ties in the magic of Christmas perfectly and we are able to understand Savannah's reluctance to celebrate. The Hazards of Mistletoe is a novella in which we feel as though we really know these characters and the events which shape them. Alyssa Rose Ivy does not avoid drama or emotion and as always her writing style is compelling. This is a fantastic story to curl up with in front of the fire (gas central heating in my case!). So wrap up in a blanket and pour a glass of eggnog (mulled wine for me!) and enjoy! I received this as a complimentary review copy, but this has had no influence on my opinion.

I absolutely, positively love novellas based around certain holidays. Especially Christmas. There is always something that makes them so magical and so much fun. And THE HAZARDS OF MISTLETOE was this and more. Ivy took a great plot and had me in love from beginning to end! From the start I was immediately immersed into the story. Even though I have nothing in common with Savannah I felt I knew her and had an instant connection. I liked this girl and wanted good things for her. Unfortunately good things don't necessarily happen to good people. And her Christmas vacation goes from bad to worse...scarring her for freshman year in college. Will Glen be able to right his wrongs the next Christmas with her? THE HAZARDS OF MISTLETOE was such a fantastic book! It was quick to read and had a wonderful, sweet romance. I adored the characters and the feisty dialogue between everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better read, especially for this time of year. Great job, Ivy! 5 Merry Stars!

More like 3 1/2 stars I have to admit that I was a little bit torn in my opinion of this story. On one side the characters are fun and it is an entertaining fast read but on the other hand the story felt a little bit rushed and there were moments when I was wondering whether I didn't miss something. Glen and Savy are definitely fun. Well, a little bit too young for my tastes, but still fun. Glen definitely knows how to grovel for his mistakes (romantic sleigh ride in a winter wonderland, definitely big brownie points ;) ). Yes, he is quite immature at times and makes the wrong decisions but he has the potential. It takes him time but he realizes what he did wrong and corrects his mistakes :) I loved the banter between Savy and Glen once they fixed their relationship. The main problem I had with the story was that at times I felt like there are parts of it that are missing. I know that it is a short story but I think that it could have bee more detailed at times. As a whole, the story is not bad and it could definitely take your mind off  the everyday chores. It is a light read so you don't have to be invested and paying attention all the time :)
