THE GUEST LIST

When a baby is found on the doorstep of The Heartbreak Café in Lakeview, everyone asks - what sort of parent would abandon their child?

Hollywood actress Ruth Seymour is home for the summer. But has an ill-advised fling with a handsome co-star resulted in a seriously unplanned consequence?

Jess feels increasingly left out as the only non-mum amongst her friends. Terrified she might lose them altogether, she embarks on becoming a mother too. But is she really ready?

Nina has come to Lakeview live with her estranged father, Patrick, after a bad break-up. But will she ever dare tell him about the secret she is concealing?

One thing's for sure: someone knows more than they're telling.
And the truth won't stay hidden forever...

    I don't know

I haven't even read the second chapter yet but I don't believe I will like this book. I do not like the thoughts of the daughter of the man with autism. I have an older sister that is high functioning autistic. Reading the inconsiderate thoughts of the daughter who clearly does not understand but doesn't make an effort to reminds me of all the people who hurt my sister because they thought she should fit into the "normal" mold. I have a hard time sympathising with her little situation of "oh my, I would crash with my mum but she's out of town." I get that she needs help and she would rather have been with her mom but she should try to understand that her father is different but that is ok and he isnt going to change. I guess what bothers me most is the thought that people can be so blind to other people's prospective that they make them out to be inhuman. Rant over sorry.

    A bit drawn out

But, overall an ok plot and characters. Nice touch bringing out and explaining Aspbergers/autism issues...a very real problem in the real world that isnt commonly discussed or addressed in literature.

    Don't waste your time!

A struggle to read, too many errors, and the grammar is terrible. Whoever proofed this did an awful job. Quit reading, not worth the trouble.

    Where was the editor?

The story line may be OK, but the punctuation and grammar are definitely not acceptable. Commas are missing, run-on sentences, pronouns used incorrectly... Wow! And I'm only a couple chapters in.

    Okay book.

I liked the book as a whole, but found it slow and a little lacking in some of the ending details.

    Sweet chick lit

Not bad if you like well written situations even if the characters aren't the greatest.
