After two years of trying without success to have a baby, Elizabeth Truman learns that her husband may already be a father. While he bonds with the son he never knew he had, Elizabeth's increased desperation to have a baby of her own causes her to choose a path of deception. When it dead ends in despair, however, she questions both her faith and the faithfulness of the Lord.
Amy Beauregard arrives in Harvest Bay with her ten-year-old son, harboring secrets that could destroy her chance at happiness, and the conviction that God has long since abandoned her. But while she picks up the pieces of her shattered life, things start to fall into place that she couldn't have predicted.
With Thanksgiving approaching, an unexpected visitor and a strange twist of fate remind both Elizabeth and Amy that even in the darkest times God is guiding His children, drawing them together in a way neither could have imagined. Will their renewed faith be strong enough to lead them through another crisis--or will The Heart's Lullaby be left unsung?

It was so good to finally, at long last, read this book by Jen. I was amazed when I started it one afternoon how easy it was to get into and how hard it was to put down! As the author herself told me, it’s a heavier sadder story than the first book in the series, Heart’s Journey Home. But, despite that, it was well-worth the time I spent reading it! I found myself totally empathizing with the main women of the story, Elizabeth and Amy. Though they were vastly different from each other in many ways, and though I have experienced very little of what they have/had gone through, I still was deeply entwined with them through their stories. It sounds weird, but I don’t know how else to put it! I got so exasperated with some of the characters sometimes – that’s the sign of a great book. I’ll definitely be keeping this one! It has a strong, but not over-bearing, Christian message, and I guarantee it will encourage and also challenge you. It deals with some tough issues in amazing ways. It was a delight to meet up with characters I grew to know and love in HJH. I thought it was a wonderful book! **The author sent me a copy of this book for review purposes. I wasn’t required to post a positive review, and wasn’t recompensed in any other way. All opinions are my own.**
I love the way she weaves a life lesson and scipture into the story without being too 'preachy'. She keeps you engulfed in the characters lives and boy I want to drive to Harvest Bay! I am only a stones throw away...*wink* great series. Cannot wait for her next one. MitziD
