A master of seduction... seduced by an innocent...

Vowing never to fall prey to something as foolish and impractical as love, the sinfully handsome Duke of Worthe has long been regarded as one of London's most profligate rakes. However, entering into a scandalous liaison with the sister of his closest friend is not something even he would consider, despite her breathtaking allure and his fierce, overwhelming desire to possess her. Or so he thought...

Raised by four doting older brothers, and possessing a reckless streak as bold as her fiery red curls, Scarlett McPhearson has long been accustomed to getting what she wants. After becoming acquainted with Alec Weston, the most sought-after bachelor in England, she discovers something she wants more than anything she has ever wanted before, to capture the heart of the man she has come to adore. Willingly surrendering her innocence to a man who offers her passion beyond her wildest dreams, but no false promises of happily ever after, Scarlett will risk pain, sorrow and devastating heartache to win his everlasting love.

I have mixed feelings about this book. This story does end with a HEA, however, the way it comes about was a little disappointing. So much time passes that things seem strange. I don't know why I just felt that way. Overall you do get the good ending.

A fiery heroine, a rakish hero. Too much pride between them to avoid a long separation. A little repetitive in the rhetoric the author uses the same phrasing too often to convey emotion or POV. Overall a cute story with a happy ending.

Truly love this author!! Her writing style, story line and characters are very engaging. Just enough "spice" to accelerate your heartbeat without being overwhelming. For a self published author I say BRAVO!!! Keep writing, I'll keep buying!

This story was a wonderful tale of a strong willed and strong-hearted girl whose love for her brothers' friend, Alec, the Duke of Worthe continues until they are both adults. Alec takes longer to realize the passion they share is much more. Unfortunately, the book was marred by many typographical, spelling and grammatical errors. It is clear that the author does not understand the appropriate use of some words (since the mistakes were repeated several times) and that zero copy editing was done. It was truly jarring and disruptive to the flow of the narrative. I felt cheated by paying good money for such a shoddy product.
