Editorial Reviews

personal - Estephan Estaban
Right from the first page, this is a torrid, rip-roaring tapestry of adventure.
Lachelle tells the gritty story of Mandy Cross- a vampire cheerleader's love and revenge against the vampire that 'turned' her; bad-boy Alan McCartney.
Intertwined with Mandy's story, Ian tells the tale of Alan's best friend Lyman Bracks, and the unbidden discovery that he's a Helsing; a vampire hunter.
The two authors weave their characters like craftsmen, and the ending/climax... wonderful.
personal - Crazy Morgan
An excellent read. Sharp and dark and you're carried along for a helluva ride. Good characters with depth. Looking forward to the next.

I didn't get into the first book with great expectations. "

I didn't get into the first book with great expectations. "Vampire High School"? C'mon. As a fan of the genre, I'll admit to having a bit of a grudge over what today's authors have done to vampires in general. That's the attitude I brought with me into this new series. But, these writers bring something new to the table; a new style of laying out the story and a new style of vampire. The vamps have grit, charisma and... yep... teeth! .
Book 1 starts off with two very distinct story lines. Mandy: cheerleader turned vamp. Lyman: nerd turned vamp killer. The authors weave their two stories in and out through the book, never coming together until the very end in a gripping climax. Dynamite! I'll admit the beginning was a little rough for me. Get through that and it's a terrific read.
Book 2 picks up right where 1 stops. Now Lyman and Mandy are in this together, both trying to figure out where they belong in the big scheme of vampire vs. Helsing (the hunters). Each has their loyalties tested, but they cling to each other throughout it all.
Book 3 again... picks up where the last book left off. In this one you really get how the characters have grown & come into their own. It culminates in a big showdown between vamps & Helsings.
After I got started with Vampire High, I just tore through the series. It never stops, not a dull moment. Really looking forward to book 4!!

Building into a Great Vampire Series.

Ok, the name Vampire High School doesn't do this series justice. Its fun to read, but the characters are very real. Although they're teenagers, they're put into dark, uncompromising situations, and they actually have to work hard to get out.
Spoiler; how they got the mix of vampire hunter and vampire into the same guy was clever, and it added a lot to the developement of the story. I just love Lyman; a mix of geek and cool.
The ending on this one was both complex and a bit hair raising.
Im hooked; Im a Vampire High School fan.
