I am still new to reading Regency romances but I have also read all of Jane Austen's works - the interesting thing about this book and this period is that much of it takes place after marriage, rather than just dealing with the premarital buildup of tension - this is very novel and interesting. We've all had a crush on or been in love with some inscrutable person who is dashing just for being such a mystery. The Hero Returns really plays on that tension and when it finally comes to a head it is all the better since they already have conjugated, if you get my drift. I enjoy the characterizations as well; even if I as a woman could not tolerate such a situation, I believe Amelia would.
