Overview

Most of us, at some point, experience the sense of God's absence. Michael Card says that rather than letting the distance widen, this is exactly the time for a deeper pursuit of God. The method he proposes is recovery of the profound, biblical practice of lament.

Growing closer to God through lament

I had listened to his music for years but this was my first experience reading one of his books. I was not disappointed as this book helped me grow spiritually and I highly recommend it. One of my favorite quotes: ?"But it is only in lament, when we see that all we have left is all God ever wanted in the first place, that we come to the end of appeasement and begin to celebrate the true worth of God."
