I was looking for an alternative to Photoshop, and this book has it. Not only are the techniques mostly ones that I haven't seen (noise reductions and color changes made simple), but the tools allow me to do all the things Photoshop does that everyone says you can't like masking and curves. It isn't a beginner book, but it isn't exactly hard. It has useful discussion of why so I know. Lots of step-by-step. Great CD add ons for Elements that help you out. Techniques aren't just effects that work on the images provided with the book like they usually are. They work on my images. The most valuable book on working with digital images that I've bought, and I have a bunch. I can use Photoshop techniques I know from other books in Elements now.
