The second book in the epic Evermen Saga.

With the fate of their homeland still in jeopardy, siblings Ella and Miro must face the Primate’s evil as he discovers a new technique: a way to extract essence from human blood.

The Primate has been temporarily defeated, but his home was once inhabited by the Evermen, and their ancient secrets still remain there. As the mysterious Evrin sets out to destroy everything he can, the Primate stumbles upon an ancient book that tells of a hidden relic with unfathomable power—and he will stop at nothing to find it.

Realizing the solution to defeating the Primate and saving the Empire is tied to the hidden relic, Ella, Miro, Killian, and the desert prince Ilathor must race to reach the relic before the Primate…or suffer disastrous consequences.

Meet the Author

James Maxwell found inspiration growing up in the lush forests of New Zealand and later in rugged Australia where he was educated. Devouring fantasy and science fiction classics at an early age, his love for books translated to a passion for writing, which he began at age eleven.

He relocated to London at age twenty-five but continued to seek inspiration wherever he could find it, in the grand cities of the old world and the monuments of fallen empires. His travels influenced his writing as he spent varying amounts of time in forty countries on six continents.

He wrote his first full-length novel, Enchantress, while living on an isle in Thailand and its sequel, The Hidden Relic, from a coastal town on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.

The third book in the Evermen Saga, The Path of the Storm, was written in the Austrian Alps, and he completed the fourth, The Touch of Fire, in Malta.

When he isn't writing or traveling, James enjoys sailing, snowboarding, classical guitar, and French cooking.

Loved Book 2 from this series. I wish he would spend more time developing his world...the picture feels more black and white than in color. I love the characters, though Ella feels a bit choppy at times, doing things that I wouldn't think her character would do. I do wish they would have extended the storyline and the plot out from book three to book 1 and 2, it all feels a little too separated to me...like it's two separate stories.

Enjoyed reading both books in this saga. However, due to the plethora of extremely descriptive battle scenes, found myself skipping over few pages at a time on a few occassions just to be able to move on with story line.

Better than the first book, with great resolutions to the saga. All the while still leaving me wanting more. What more can a reader ask for? Will definetly read book 3. So hurry up and get it to us!

As with Enchantress, the hidden Relic is action packed with interesting characters. The transition from Enchantress was not smooth, but it didn't matter in the end. Donna Bryant

The second book does not disappoint. The continuance of the Evermen Saga is just as good as the original...I loved it.

Just as exciting as the first book! I love the strength that runs through all of these characters (both good and evil). There are no wishy-washy characters here, just well rounded ones that make you love them, or hate them / root for them, or wish for their demise. Definitely a good read. I never wanted to put it down, and was always amazed at how many pages I had devoured in one sitting. Same thing with the first installment. Can't wait to read the third book!
