LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement!

You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of 'hooker' in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the anger management issues, the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.

Well, I have a confession to make...

THE HERMIT

Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York's Finest and the internet's darling. Virtual reality is Annie's forte, but actual reality? Not so much.

THE HOOKER

Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media--social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby's wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn't easy to overlook, and he can't escape the notice of the Socialmedialite...

THE PLAN

When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn't be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?

The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 100k word novel, and is a standalone.

I'm sad to say this because I love Penny Reid but I couldn't even finish this book. I loved the hero. He was smart, sexy, and charming. He was defensive and guarded about his personal life but I could see why. The reason I couldn't finish the book was because of the heroine. She was not likeable. I thought she was a bully who hid behind her computer. She was offended when her blog was compared to other mean spirited online gossip sites, but that's EXACTLY what she did...point out other people's flaws and include photos to back it up. Maybe if she owned her thoughts and included her name and photo in the blog I could have had more respect for her. But of coarse she didn't do that because she was just a shy girl! Other people loved this book and maybe if I had stuck with it the heroine would have redeemed herself at the end, but honestly, I just lost interest. I love Penny Reid and will continue to read her books, but for me this one was a pass.

I went on my Good reads website and saw a review for the 2nd book . So I checked out the reviews for this book and then bought it. Can I just say I have had a very hard time e putting it down! So it only took me like a total of 2 days to read (trying to read around a baby ND work is not easy)this book and went ahead and bought the next one to start now. I already have a Penny Reid book that I love, and this is my next. Plus I read a preview here for another series that I HAD TO BUY ALSO! I'm gonna be broke buying all these hilarious books!!

This was so amazingly awesome. Loved it all! Fantastic read! I'm totally in love with Ronan! Loved Annie and Ronan. Told from dial POV’s, I thought they both had an excellent voice. Right from the beginning I was all in. Annie is so introverted and awkward but she had such endearing qualities about her. Sometimes she had this deer-in-headlights thing going on and I thought it was so great and it could be highly entertaining! I loved her, got frustrated with her, rooted for her, and cheered for her. I thought she had great character development as we learn the ends and outs of her past and watch her open up. Loved the aspect of real life versus her blogging life and how that all came together in the end. And Ronan, I am in serious love with this man. So playful, flirty, and forward, I love how open and sweet he is. He’s a little dirty and kinky too, oh my! ;-) These two had such fantastic chemistry. I loved seeing everything between them grow as they open up and deal with past issues. There was drama and I got all kinds of stressed out a few times, but there were also all these great light, funny moments that had me giggling. A nice amount of schmexy that came with this fantastic slow burn and anticipation. It was awesome! Really great build. Totally solid read. Fantastic ending! Loved the huge romantic gesture of putting yourself out there. Made my heart happy! I could go on but I'd get sappy and I'm running out of adjectives. Loved the writing and the story. I adored how the chapters were set up at the beginning, that was fun. This was excellent. A must read!

The Hooker and the Hermit by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid was a title pushed on me by Trish and our reading buddy, Shanna Shambles. They were both so excited about the hero there wasn’t any way I could get away from reading this one as quickly as possible. What can I say, my one-clicks are heavily influenced by peer pressure. Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars – Kept telling myself “just one more chapter.” When I started The Hooker and the Hermit I had no idea what this story was about, I didn’t even take time to read the description. I was just hopeful that it didn’t include any actual hooker activity. Oh, who am I kidding, I was hoping for a little Julia Roberts Pretty Woman action. Thankfully, or unfortunately depending on which side of the debate you find yourself on regarding hookers, we do not have any street walker activity. Apparently, Hooker is a Rugby term for the position that is like the American Quarterback. The Hooker and the Hermit is a pretty funny story. I had so many sections highlighted for quotes there is no way I can use them all in this post. Annie, our heroine is social awkward (I’m going to get to that part) but this does lead to some pretty funny situations. Ronin has a great personality and the two of them have some great banter and insights, I was laughing on more than one occasion. A few chapters into the story and I was having serious annoyance issues with our heroine, she was driving me nuts. I guess I just don’t have any patience for socially awkward people. It was also about this time that I realized one of the co-authors was Penny Reid. That’s what I get for jumping into a book without any research before clicking. How did I miss this important author fact? I have no idea, but it is important because while I have enjoyed Penny’s writing in the past I find she writes very socially awkward heroines. They are so bad that on more than one occasion I’ve found myself questioning how they interact in public at all. Believe it or not, learning this was a Reid heroine made me cut our poor main character, Annie some slack, she can’t help it that her creator is obsessed with writing the most annoying characters in existence. Luckily our hero, Ronan makes up for all of the deficiencies of our heroine. He’s flipping amazing. I want to take Ronan home with me, hooker or not. We receive Ronan’s point of view every other chapter and seriously, he’s just perfect. So sweet and kind and considerate, and amazing, and perfect. Can you tell Ronan makes me a little gushy? The best part, Ronan is a go on their relationship from day one and I just can’t not love a hero who knows what he wants and goes for it. That’s the way to win over my heart. It takes a long time to get to the good stuff in this story, but don’t worry we get there. I spent a decent portion in the beginning worried about how things were going to blow up when the truth came out. Turns out I didn’t need to be too worried, In fact things were a little anti-climatic when it came to the the excitement level. In fact by about 75% into the story I was a little bored. the story seemed to be dragging and plot points that I thought would have a larger impact on the plot seemed to just go away on their own with little to no angst. While it’s not horribly angsty The Hooker and the Hermit is hot (notice the 5 star rating below). Just like above, it takes our main characters a bit to get there, but once they do they make up for it in spades. There’s even a little bit of light kink. Ronan is hot out of the bedroom and he is even steamier inside of it. When it was all said and done and the last page had been turned I found The Hooker and the Hermit to be a really good and funny story. It is a light and fluffy read with mild angst. Even though I normally like a little more drama in my reads I would still highly recommend The Hooker and the Hermit to most readers. This is a story that is one-click worthy.

I will admit it: I looked up this book specifically for the title. Yeah, I’m that kinda girl. When I saw the cover, I immediately knew that the “Hooker” was a rugby player. I won’t recap the story however I really enjoyed this book. There was some “language” – words that I don’t normally use – that bothered me however I will say in Ms. Cosway’s and Ms. Reid’s defense, Europeans tend to use such language more freely than we do. But I got over myself and read on. The thing that I found most satisfying was the way social media was such a big part of all that Ronan Fitzpatrick (the Hooker) lived every day, when all he wanted was to play rugby. And Annie Catrel (the Hermit)? She was an anonymous blogger by night and a social media expert “fixer” hired to help repair Ronan’s reputation. It truly takes place today, in this world. These two make a great couple. They really have to work hard to work through their sometimes dark and hurtful pasts to make their relationship work AND get their HEA. I loved these two! I highly recommend this book – take a chance, like I did. You won’t be disappointed.

If you enjoyed Neanderthal Seeks Human, you'll love this book! Although... this book is a lot more steamy. Really hope these authors work together again! Annie was quirky in an endearing way. Ronan was bold and hot! Enjoyed getting both perspectives. Loved that Annie was independent and didn't need to be swept off her feet.

3.5 Stars Reviewed by Suzanne and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog By day Annie Catrel is a recluse, a social media whizz who can make even the most despicable celebrities look like saints, all from the safety of her apartment. However, Annie is also has a secret identity…the Socialmedialite her online persona and the creator of the extremely popular blog New York’s Finest. Ronan Fitzpatrick is a the best hooker out there, on the rugby field he can do no wrong, it is life outside the field and the court of popular opinion he seems to struggle with. When he is sent to polish up his public persona, who better than Annie the social media guru to assist him…especially when Ronan can’t seem to take his eyes off her, and his dirty mind from fantasising about her… I thought it was only in Historical Romances that people have conniptions… but apparently that isn’t true, when I heard that Cosway and Reid were writing a book together, I believe my reaction closely resembled a matching making mama who just realised her formerly plain/mousey daughter has managed to land the most eligible Duke in the ton. I was a tiny bit excited. Which, is why I am a tad…disappointed! And it isn’t because I didn’t enjoy The Hooker and the Hermit because I did. A book containing quirky humour and a dirty minded hero is always going to be enjoyable; however, I expected something, more? Because, although I did like this, I laughed in the appropriate places, sighed lustfully in others, what it didn’t do was knock me socks off. Maybe I have been spoiled and I am to used to Reid and Cosway wowing me, Reid’s Knitting in the City series has never failed to make me fall in love and Cosway’s books always leave me contemplating the twist and turns the book has taken me. Maybe, The Hooker and the Hermit was just too conventional for what I was expecting. However, although I was a little let down by this book, I think this is because my expectations were sky high, and it didn’t quite make it. But, if you want something with a sexy Irish hero, who has some deliciously filthy thoughts and a funny heroine, this is something you need to pick up and give a go. *ARC provided by publisher

Rugby players are my sexy new vice. Especially when they are being paired with a snarky, blogging introvert with a bit of a geek streak. Honestly, I added this book to my list because of Penny Reid.  I am so enjoying her Knitting in the City series that I when I saw she was co-penning a book with a rugby player, I was very interested. I had no clue who L.H. Cosway was, but worth a shot, right?  OMG. I could definitely see Ms. Reid's influence in the story. The witty snark from an just off center female that keeps me coming back for more, was readily available. However, she also had a much softer, much more fragile side than I have seen before that I can't help but attribute to Ms. Cosway's influence. The combination of Annie's bold online persona with her more shy and reserved live personality made her such an intriguing character. Even when I wanted to giver her a smack in the back of the head. Then we have the Rugby playing Irish bad boy - Ronan. (And you know that I was hearing the brogue in my head!) He was all the very best parts of a true Alpha male. Bold, brash, dominant, loyal and so very loving. He was so patient with Anna and her issues. And he had quite the dirty mouth too. There was just so much about him that I liked. I do wish we had gotten more actual rugby play. That part was very much skimmed over and I missed it. My biggest issue with the book, and I admit, it's probably all on me, is that I was reading this when all the FSoG movie hoopla was going on and it tainted the book - just a bit.  There is a scene where it comes out that Ronan likes to tie his women up, and I became fearful that an author I had enjoyed was about to join the ranks of the FSoG carbon copiers and be lost to me forever. That didn't happen, and I went on to really enjoy the book, but the timing just took a bit of the shine off overall.  I still ended up giving the book 4 stars. Thanks to the IndieSagePromo and the authors for the opportunity to read and review the book.

Delightful and Highly Entertaining Favorite Quotes: “He said the words so smoothly, like words should be said, like an expert on banter and flirtation.” “… she looked like she found me about as appealing as second-hand underpants.”  “My laugh was the mating call of the Yeti.” “I was a mess.  I was inexperienced.  I was a broken control-freak hermit.  My issues had issues.  My hurts had hurts.  I knew how to run away.  I was really good at running away; I didn’t know how to stay.” “I want you free.  I want you wild.  I want you brave.  I want you any way I can get you.  I want you now, and I want you for the rest of my life.” My Review: Oh swoon, I know nothing about rugby, but suddenly I want to, and I want to - very much.  Maybe I have been living under a rock as I had never read either of these authors before.  After reading this totally enchanting tale, I am overcome with the desire to one-click every single book listed under their names.   And – yay- I see it is a quite an impressively long list for both ladies.  I adored their likeable but flawed protagonists, and enjoyed the many unexpected nuances and quirks that made them… just right for each other.  The writing is smart, witty, observant and insightful, crisp, steamy, and unfailingly entertaining.  I have two new favorites.

How do you begin to put into words something that was so incredible that you just want to say “experience it yourself and then you will see the greatness that is this book”? The Hooker and the Hermit is just that. It is a brilliant collaboration between two equally fresh and incredible authors, each bringing a flair and style that is unique and melds together so beautifully. Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors of all time. L.H. Cosway is still a new to me author, but be assured, after this book, the majority of her writing collection now resides in my kindle library. The Hooker and the Hermit is a fresh romantic tale featuring a rugby player, a man by the name of Ronan, who plays the hooker position in rugby, and the hermit, Annie, a woman who is so socially isolated yet digitally free. When you put two such intriguing and well rounded characters between the pages of this book, it is an explosion of literary greatness between the covers. I appreciate that this story has every element that the romantic readers needs but it goes above and beyond the status quo of books today. The depth and character development is spot on and the themes are unique and fun. This book is filled with passion, lust, love, individuality, personality, appropriate drama, and fascinating situations. If you were to look up the definition of hermit with a twist from a literary standpoint, you would find that Annie is the definition. She is reserved, painfully shy, and so closed off from the world around her. She is a brilliant at what she does- able to turn a negative image in the media into one that is glowing and bright. Yet what people do not know is that her ability to blend in and fly under the radar allows her to fulfill her most outgoing endeavor and alternate personality of the Socialmedialite, the anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling, the one known by all with millions of friends and contacts, the complete opposite of Annie in every way. Annie’s character has a quiet strength that exudes from the pages of this book, one that is wrapped in a reserved package. She is fun, flirty, and socially awkward. As the story progresses, we see a woman who is allowing her world to be broadened and her two lives cannot help but to meld into one, creating a force to be reckoned with. Ronan is the epitome of the sexy athlete with a streak of bad boy. He is the perfect counter part to Annie. He is smooth, sexy, intimidating, and kind. He is a family man, one who loves and protects his mother and sister. He is a teammate and a man who knows exactly what he wants. His outgoing and strong personality is a force to be reckoned with. He gets what he wants and his determination is what brings to life a new confidence within Annie. They are two seemingly opposite people who click in a way that is pure magic. The passion and sex is woah. The drama and angst is powerful but not overwhelming. The chemistry is off the charts amazing. The relationships are strong and well developed. There is a level of intrigue that heightens the story line. Dual POVs allow the reader greater insight and a broader understanding of what is happening and how deep this story goes. It is not just a story about a rugby player and a world famous blogging hermit, it is a story about love, learning to embrace your life with no room for fear, and stepping out to achieve and grasp what you so desperately desire. The Hooker and the Hermit has it all. There is mystery, passion, and conflict. There is character transformation and deep connections. You will laugh out loud at the banter and antics of the main characters. This story will woo your heart and take up residence there. This book takes the best of both Penny and L.H.’s writing  skills and creates a force to be reckoned with. It is fresh and alive. This collaboration has opened up a whole new world to the reader and I hope that this is not the last we see of these two working together. Make sure to check out The Hooker and the Hermit! Prepare yourself for something fantastic.

Another WOW!! Loved this book! It starts with Annie and her funny blogs. Altho there were some sad and scary moments, Annie and Ronan had plenty of fun and laughs, too. This is, also, a Great combination of 2 Wonderful Authors!!  Looking/Hoping for more!!

Both Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway write amazing books.  Their stories never fail to make me laugh, cry, and swoon. Penny's stories tend to find a way of dealing with things with mostly humor, while L.H.'s books take a more serious look at things.   The news that the two of them were writing a book together only made me happy. Nothing took that happy feeling away, until I started seeing warnings about this book not being similar to what the authors had written in the past. I understand why the warnings might have been needed.  When you've got two authors who write differently there's that fear readers won't like what they see because it's different. From the teasers, I was expecting The Hooker and the Hermit to be hot, funny, and romantic.   Luckily for me it was all I had hoped and more.  I am a sucker for the quiet, shy heroines and for heroes who are "bad" boys.  I also love it when their exteriors hide hidden strengths and who they really are.  That meant I was totally in love with Annie and Ronan.  I loved Annie for being terrified of the world but not being able to live without it. She found a way to make sure her social fears didn't keep her from being a productive member of society.  And Ronan. I loved him for taking charge in changing what he didn't like about his life.  I loved him for his attitude. I only wish there'd been more rugby in this book.  It seemed kind of a let down we didn't, or rather Annie didn't, experience Ronan at his finest.  I would've loved to see him dirty talk to her in the locker room after a match.  I really enjoyed the chemistry Ronan and Annie had. It was wonderful seeing Annie confused by Ronan's interest but then coming to enjoy it.  I liked seeing Ronan have to work to woo a woman.  Another character I really enjoyed was Joan.  She may have been Annie's boss, but she was a woman who knew her employees and even though she let Annie do her thing for the most part, she still played a large role in Annie and Ronan's relationship.  I though of her as a modern day Yoda. I must say I really liked the way Penny and L.H. handled the various issues in this book.  I found the story to be enchanting and hot and a great blend of their two styles.  It felt like a romantic comedy with substance, which is just what I was expecting.  I think I would've loved this book had it gone in the opposite direction towards darker and more serious. I would love to see another collaboration between these two, featuring other people from this book and seeing Annie and Ronan again, or even new characters.  Collaborations push authors and while I love reading what both Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway write, I love reading new and different material too.  I'd say this effort was a success!

I loved this book!! Hot damn this was good.  It is no secret that I have a huge book crush on Penny Reid.  You might say I went a bit over the top after reading Beauty and the Mustache (one of the best books of 2014, btw) and gorged myself on everything Penny has published in a short amount of time.  Her writing is so unique; it is witty and funny and she knows just when to hit you with humor and heart stopping emotion.  Penny Reid is the perfect combination of heart, humor and heat... or so I thought until The Hooker and the Hermit!  Now, I know that Penny Reid is amazing all on her own, but when you combine her writing with the writing of L.H. Cosway that my friend, THAT is the combination of AWESOME!   L.H. Cosway is a new to me Author (I own, as it turns out, a few of her books on my Kindle) and The Hooker and the Hermit may have just launched her to the top of my "must read all books by this author" list.  L.H. Cosway's writing really blended beautifully with Penny Reid's.  Reading this book you would never know that two people wrote this book.  Their styles mesh well and each Author enhances the other to create the amazing story that is The Hooker and the Hermit!   Just reading the blurb for this book, I knew I was going to love it and I was not disappointed.  The Hooker and the Hermit is the type of book that makes you love reading all over again.  The story was fun, the characters were unique and the chemistry was off the charts!  Ronan and Annie were a pair that I fell instantly in love with and I truly hope that we get to see these two again (in a spin off, in a novella, anything).  I am addicted to these two and I find myself going back to things I highlighted in this book almost daily. Ronan is the bad boy of Rugby and is in New York for some much needed time away from Ireland and his team.  The instant we meet Ronan I had insta-lust.  He is rough around the edges, doesn't care what others think of him, has a bit of a temper, has a sweet mushy center and has a filthy mouth that will make you blush!  Ronan's character was so much more than I expected.  I loved peeling back his layers and watching him with Annie, learning about how his heart works and getting inside his head with the dual POV in this story.  (Have I mentioned his dirty side?  Sigh.  It's a good one).  Annie was a treat to read.  On the surface she is a very quiet person who hides away from the world but knows how to redeem even the baddest reputations.  She likes to blend into the background and doesn't have close friends.  What you see with Annie, isn't all there is to her.  At home in the privacy of her sanctuary, she has another side of her that is snarky, sassy, open, brutally honest and super funny.  Annie is also an internet famous blogger and seeing how she can open up via the internet as a shield was fascinating.  Annie doesn't let people in, she doesn't let people get too close and then Ronan comes along with his dirty mouth, hot eyes and charm and the fun begins. I loved this story!  L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid together make one incredible team.  The cast of characters, the emotions, the heat and the humor in The Hooker and the Hermit will win you over within the first chapters.  If you have never read a Penny Reid book or L.H. Cosway book you are in for a treat!  If have been lucky enough to read these authors in the past then you are in for an amazing evening of reading (I dare you to read this in more than one sitting) and falling in love with these two writing together. The Hooker and the Hermit is my first 5 star read in 2015 and I have a feeling it will stay a favorite for months to come.  Go 1-click this today!!

I'm a freaking L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid puddle. I loved every single moment of their book, The Hooker and the Hermit. The witty banter. The flirting. The conflict and drama. It was so well written - the authors seriously created characters that you wish were real so that you could be friends with them. Every minute of Annie and Ronan's romance is captivating and intriguing. Can I have Ronan Fitzpatrick for my birthday? (Preferably only wrapped in a bow.) Pretty please!! I want him!! He was so much fun and so extremely sexy. His stubbornness left you shaking your head in laughter all the while creating an appreciation for his dedication toward getting what he wants. His charisma jumps off the page and latches onto you - you never want the book to end. And Annie. I adored her. She's smart, clever, and clearly has impeccable instincts for what the public wants. Her blog is incredible. It made me laugh and made me wish that it was a real site that I could visit daily. I liked that her character was not vapid or uninspiring. Her insecurities were relatable and understandable but she found a way to reach out of her comfort zone with her blog. You are quickly very empathetic toward her plight and hope that she works past her trust issues. Some books create characters that both mesh and explode - it's bewitching. Annie and Ronan are one of those couples and together they are magic. I devoured The Hooker & the Hermit. The plot plays out well and quickly - this will become a favorite and a story that you will revisit time and time again. The characters are that awesome and I cannot recommend it enough.
