Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Dracula, Chucky, Godzilla, Annie Wilkes and the living dead are revered and revealed in The Horror Movie Survival Guide, an engagingly silly book in which the authors claim, "Horror movies are texts to be studied, lessons in survival." Hovering between metaphor and spoof ("No, it's not `just a movie' "), Matteo Molinari and Jim Kamm cite hundreds of films as they dispense information on identifying a given alien, beast or psychopath; what to expect from it; how to defend yourself (if this is even a possibility); and in what movie(s) it has appeared. HAVE GHOUL WILL GROVEL

For horror buffs by horror buffs. Matteo and Jim really worked hard on bringing this whole book to light. It should be appreciated that someone would¿ve gone to all the trouble to go out and get this well-researched book on movie monster survival. Much like the Anarchist Cookbook the HMSG will go down. In this modern schlock literature, you¿ll learn to defeat such creatures of the night as vampires, lycanthropists, zombies (living and dead), to interstellar aliens as Predators, Aliens, Killer Klowns to human creation disasters like Frankenstein, Terminators to the Prince of Darkness His-Goddamn-self to netherworldy beasts as Clive Barker¿s Cenobites. This reference book is a great tribute to the spirit of horror movies everywhere. So, turn up your fave spook-out soundtrack and gore out and bite it now.
