Editorial Reviews

Romance Reviews Today - Terrie Figueroa
"THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN is a thrill-read, intense, fast and unpredictable. The reader will be tempted to "close your eyes and don't look" but from the first grizzly murder to the last, the reader is glued to the pages waiting breathlessly for the killer to be unmasked and brought down.

For an adrenaline rushing read, I highly recommend THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN."
Word Weaving - Cindy Penn
"As he plot progresses in layers of complexity and entanglements, danger stalks the innocent. Just the creative voyeuristic thrill of briefly living in this world, by way of the path blazed by author Patricia Rasey, is enough to make THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN a must read. Daring and bold, Rasey presents the shadowy world of vampyres with a unique darkness that proves mesmerizing. The style is fiercely unrelenting, marking Rasey indelibly as a harsh truth teller."
Ivy Quill - Sally Laturi
"Ms. Rasey will take readers on a journey into darkness. Readers should be prepared to suspend any prejudice, disbelief, or formulaic ideas. In The Hour Before Dawn, nothing is as simple as it seems, and no one is safe. With twists and surprises, The Hour Before Dawn is a must read – don’t miss this spectacular book!"
AAM Book Reviews - Stacey Bucholz
"Patricia Rasey has outdone herself with The Hour Before Dawn! This book is extremely interesting and insightful. I thought Ms.Rasey was a fantastic author when I read Deadly Obsession. I had to change my opinion after reading The Hour Before Dawn. She’s not only a fantastic author, she’s an exceptionally gifted writer, with a skill and talent that distinguishes her from other’s in her profession!"
RT Book Reviews - Kathy Boswell
Patricia Rasey takes you on a wild ride through the dark side of life with this intriguing story. Prepare to be blown away by the killer. If you weren't a fan before, you definitely will be now!"

A Graphic Look at the Goth Sub-culture

Tev Zaber, a young police officer goes underground to help catch a killer who may be part of the Goth lifestyle. Tev's first foray into the club scene does not go well, as even with his recently pierced ears, he does not have the true Goth look. He does meet a young girl named Krystal and a man named Raven. Raven claims he is a vampire and has been re-incarnated. Tev eventually works his way into Raven's confidence and meets other vampires who drink human blood, but do it in a rather sterile, though bizarre way. Krystal lives with the mysterious Azzo who seems to be a man of independent means with a large home. Although Tev is more than a little intimidated by Azzo, he can see that Azzo has done much to help Krystal who ran away from 'monsters' who were part of her own family. She is still dealing with issues from her past in a less than healthy way. Tev is going through an emotional divorce and is attracted to Krystal despite a substantial age difference. He does not realize how their lives are interconnected until a series of tragic events occur. The Hour Before Dawn gives a graphic look into a sub-culture that many would not normally notice. Vampire stories have been fascinating since Bram Stoker. Ms. Rasey looks at evil that lurks not only in alternate lifestyles, but even where things appear 'normal' . The romance element is handled well. It would be easy to cringe at the big age difference of the hero and heroine, but there is a feeling of tenderness underneath it all. The Hour Before Dawn is fast paced, polished story that will appeal to readers who like their mystery gritty. Ms. Rasey deserves much success in her writing career. ¿Roberta Austin
