Overview

All Susan Owens wants after getting her Master's degree is to take a break. Instead, she's dragged into helping her family of eight move across the country to her grandma's ancestral home in Florida.

The old house is a mess that goes beyond the aesthetic. Some of Susan's ancestors aren't really "gone," and they're determined to act out their anger.

Along with her occult-obssessed sister, and a too-cute-to-be-true neighbor sending mixed signals, Susan takes up her grandmother's search for a way to save the house.

If she can't save the family home, Susan can at least hope her family makes it out alive.

**This book was originally published as a short story. Due to feedback, it has been edited to within an inch of its life and is now a fully-fleshed out novel at 250 pages.

I was given a free copy of this just so I could give an honest review
OMG what is wrong with these other readers leaving reviews.  I did not find any typos in this book at all and if there was anybody would be able to find them it would have been me.  I am an avid reader.  I usually go through three or four books a week.  Ofcourse, I have the time to do this as I am mildly disabled so I stay at home full time.  I consider my English language to be excellent..
I absolutely loved this book and couldnt get enough of it.  I was not able to put my Nook down for a second.  I am definitely looking forward to this series if there is going to be one.  With the way the story ended I feel there could possibly be a continuation.  Heather Marie has a way of making you feel that your in the story.  It has romance, suspense, comedic at times and is quite thrilling.  I was blown away by this story.  Really!  And if your not then you dont appreciate good literature.  I have only just discovered this author a few months ago.  So far I have only read less than a handful of her books but everyone of them I loved and they are all in a different genre.  I dont like reviews that give the story away.  That is unfair and a major spoiler Alert but believe me when I tell you this is one of her best books and in my mind all her books are amazing.  I would reccomend The Temple, Fountain of Youth or Eternity.  Forgive me if I dont have the name of that book righ.  It could also be called Eternal Youth but all you have to do to get a list of her books is to go to B&N and write her name on top,  Heather Maried Adkins and you will be given a list.  This is a MUST read.  If you appreciate a little suspense and good literature you will love this.  Absolutely amazing!  Now I am going to read Abigail.  Another one of her novels.  I can hardly wait.  WTG Heather!

    Falls short

As a novella, it has a lot of potential that is not fully developed. The ending is flat, as if the author got bored and wantd to be done with it.

It was a good story but, the ending was kind of anti-climatic. I wanted a longer, better ending. It's still a good quick read.

    Would not recommend

It was easy to read, but didn't dig deeper into the back story and the ending left something to be desired. There was also a handful of typos. I'm glad it was free.

    Creepy

I seriously can not get enough of this new author Heather Adkins. I love everything she writes. Her descriptions make it feel like you are watching a movie instead of reading a book. I don't usually read scary stories, but since it was by Adkins I figured I'd give it a shot and I was not disappointed. I hope she has a new release soon!
