Singer Kelvin Swaby has the whole Rob Tyner/soul thang down pat (as evidenced by such ditties as "Love Like That"), and his bandmates keep pace throughout, with explosive rockers ("Oh No! Not You Again!"), Jack White-meets-James Brown grooves ("How You Like Me Now"), and a lush sonic sign-off ("Stuck"). Vintage rock revival done right.

    The HEAVY band is heavy on GREAT music!

    I first heard one of the tracks (a partial clip actually) off this CD played as background music for a SUV commercial on TV in Jan 2010 - I had to know right then who the band was. I went straight to my computer and found the British band's name through the SUV's manufacturers website. I ordered it immediately from B&N. I LOVE all the tracks, not a bad one in the group. At first I thought the recording sounded a bit rough but it's just their type of sound, they don't want to sound all studio polished and shined - they wanted the listener to hear it just like they were in that dark pub in person! A good mix of blues, soul, RnB and rock. Track 2, How You Like Me Now is my fave song, followed closely by #8 Love Like That and #4 Short Change Hero. The singer has an incredible voice, sexy and smoothe, gritty when he needs to be & with great vocal range and clarity. The band is right on with funky beat and pumping guitar licks - oh! and the horn section has my heart, I love me some good horn! I enjoy listening to this band on long drives - a 2 thumbs up as a road trip CD!
