Karyn and her husband Roy had come to the peaceful California village of Drago to escape the savagery of the city. On the surface Drago appeared to be like most small rural towns.

But it was not.

The village had a most unsavory history. Unexplained disappearances, sudden deaths.

People just vanished, never to be found.

This is a great book, and it's a classic. If you haven't read it yet, you should.

    The Howling

This is the best werewolf book i've ever read. I recently just bought the first three Howlings and Cat People on e-bay and now Gary Brandner is one of my favorite writers.

    *Review courtesy of Book Hollow*

The Howling was a very entertaining read. This book was a great introduction to the series and the end of the book leaves you wanting more. There are yet so many questions to be answered, and I will be turning to the second book in the series soon.

The Howling was turned into a movie in the early 80's. I remember watching the movie when I was a kid and it scared the crap out of me. For some reason, werewolves freak me out. While browsing on a used online bookstore, I came across this book and had to buy it. The first thing that struck me right off was how different the book and movie are. This is NOT a bad thing. Because of this, reading the book was like a new experience.

This classic werewolf story is a must read for any horror genre fan. If you don't have it on your shelf then you must go buy it now...really, go buy it now!

The Howling is a good, short, straight forward werewolf story. Not overdone or silly. Definitely recommend it. I read it to see how Brandner treated the mythology of the werewolf, and he did a very good job.

A tom steps out, with blood red eyes and a pelt the sickly color of dried blood. It is revealed that the pelt is not the color of dried blood, it is covered with blood. Its voice was like nails grinding on metal. "Where is the leader of this clan?
