Here, surrounded by enemy air bases and in badly charted shallow waters - so shallow that many experts considered them unsuitable for submarine operations - she took a heavy toll of enemy warships and supply vessels. The boat, her captain and her crew are all vividly portrayed in this exciting chronicle which is the fruit of wide and detailed research.

Rather dull story of some very unproductive war patrols.

This might have made a good short story or chapter in a real book about British subs in the far-east but it is padded into book lenght with side issues. There is more "back story" than the claimed story of the subs war patrols. If this is the BEST of the British subs in the Pacfic no wonder they needed help in WWII.
