Overview

Let the hunt begin …

Lisa Madison wants a husband, and she has just the candidate in mind: Robert Langley. Trouble is, the infuriating man insists on seeing her as the impish girl she once was—even as every other gentleman in London has taken notice of her womanly . . . charms. When her beauty lands her in danger, it's Robert who comes to the rescue, only to announce his affections are not of the romantic kind!

Robert saw enough sorrow in his parents' union to know he wants nothing to do with marriage, which is exactly what he'll be trapped into if he acts on his desire for the irksome siren. And then Lisa does what Robert least expects: gives up on him! As feigned indifference gives way, blistering passion burns at last. But just before the pair can succumb to hard-won bliss, an enemy with unfinished business lurks, threatening to destroy them both.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The feisty Madison sisters from The Heiress are back in this amusing and sentimental Regency. Lisa Madison adores her neighbor Robert, Lord Langley, but when he informs her she’s “like a little sister to me” and appears oblivious to the charms revealed by her transparent gown, she decides it’s time to have a proper London season and find a man who will appreciate her. An intriguing mix of stubbornness, plotting, and naïveté, Lisa charms her admirers easily and forces Robert to reconsider what he is giving up. Sisters Christiana and Suzette are as loyal as ever, and their husbands are more than willing to help with the matchmaking. The thinly veiled mystery is quite obvious to anyone who’s read Suzette’s story, but Robert is a dashing hero, and his efforts to work through his demons and preconceived ideas about marriage give this romance plenty of tender moments. Agent: Jenny Bent, the Bent Agency. (Mar.)

Good To Know

1.) I started The Deed (my first romantic comedy and the first book to be published) a year after my mother's death. I was very close to my mother and the year following her death was about the most miserable time imaginable. But then I decided I was tired of being down and unhappy, and looked around for something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When I couldn't find anything, I decided to sit down and write my own. It worked! Emmalene and Amaury's antics in The The Deed had me chuckling as I wrote.
2.) I met my husband in New York in July 2003. I was there because of the RWA conference and he was there on vacation. The first day there we kept running into each other and chatting in front of the hotel, and then he asked to join our group (it was very brave of him. He was the lone male amongst six or seven women, lol). He's a Brit and I'm Canadian and the first two months of our relationship were conducted by phone as well as over the internet. Our first date was a week in New York in September, followed by three weeks in England. He then came to Canada in both November and December, the first time to propose and the second time for Christmas with my family and then to take me back to England with him for New Years. I lived in Northern England for two years. We married in New York and now live in Canada.
3.) I was writing about my husband before I met him. Single White Vampire came out in September 2003 and I took a copy with me to England when I went for the three weeks. I walked into my now-hubby's house to find at least six months worth of mail unopened and stacked up on a shelf inside the front door. When I stopped dead, eyes going wide with shock and asked "My God. That's mail. You don't open your mail?" He looked embarrassed and muttered some explanation about bills automatically being paid by the bank so no need to open those and everything else was unsolicited and he couldn't be bothered. When I burst out laughing, he started to frown and said "What?" My response was to dig out the copy of Single White Vampire and hand it over with the suggestion he read it. The mail thing wasn't the only similarity he had to Lucern Argeneau. There are many more and when he sat down to read the book, he kept stopping and turning a rather startled and even suspicious gaze my way and muttering that this sounded familiar" or that did. I had to point out that it really was coincidence, that I had written that story at least nine months before meeting him. LOL.

Lisa Madison grew up worshipping Robert her next-door neighbor.

Lisa Madison grew up worshipping Robert her next-door neighbor. When he rescues her from a kidnapping by a brothel owner, it becomes evident that Lisa is in danger. Robert has to protect Lisa while refusing to acknowledge any but brotherly feelings for her. Robert believes that any woman he marries is destined to cheat on him. When Lisa realizes that Robert will not marry her, she begins to look for possible suitors determined to move on with her life. Robert has to deal with his past and protect Lisa while enduring Lisa’s popularity with eligible young men. An enjoyable example of the genre that manages to include a bit of a twist in the end.

    I Also Recommend:

The game may be on but who decides the winner?

A number of appropriate suitors may be pursing Lisa Madison but she has eyes for only one man, Robert Langley. Robert unfortunately is as blind to her affection for him, as he is stupid. Robert only says he sees her as a childhood friend not a woman.

Lisa tries everything including taking advice from the wrong source that leads to a path on the verge of ruination to gain Robert’s attention. When Lisa steps out of her comfort zone, she puts her foot right into a pickle of a situation. Robert may not want her but someone certainly does and the way things keep happening it appears this “suitor” is not after her love and affection but complete destruction. The brilliant plan to keep her safe that great minds devised is for Robert to watch out for Lisa every moment of the day and keep her safe. Ah but a tangled web your friends weave for you when they have decided they know what is best for you.

Even though Robert still refuses to acknowledge his feelings for her, he has an overwhelming desire that he cannot explain to take her in his arms and kiss her senseless. Robert convinces himself it is lust he feels for Lisa not love. However, if any other man dare touch her, he will be forced to change his mind. Keeping perpetual in motion Lisa safe, is un-nerving for a man always in control and especially for Robert because he has such conflicted feelings for her. Both of them chase, divert, and run from one another to the point no one can figure out who is compromising whom in this game of love me, love me not.

Lynsay Sands has written the perfect addition to this series with a wonderful and exciting story that keeps the reader absorbed to the final word. Love may not be blind but sometimes men are not the brightest romantic bulbs. Ms. Sands shows how a woman can turn everything back around to her favor.

ENJOYABLE READ! THE HUSBAND HUNT by Lynsay Sands is an exciting

    ENJOYABLE READ!

THE HUSBAND HUNT by Lynsay Sands is an exciting historical romance. It is book #3 in "The Madison Sisters" series but can be read as a stand alone. See, "The Countess",and "The Heiress". The continuance story of the Madison Sisters. You will fall in love with Lisa Madison, and Robert Langley.Lisa loved Robert for years from afar and is determined to make him her husband. Thus the "Husband Hunt". Robert is determined not to marry due to his parents ill fated marriage. What follows is witty banter, danger, desire, sparks fly and love blossoms until an enemy threatens to destroy both Robert and Lisa. While, not as funny as the first two in this series, it is very entertaining with a few twists and turns. Ms. Sands is wonderful with her delightful stories, that is entertaining and will have you smiling as you follow the characters you can't help but fall in love yourself. A fast paced and adventure filled story. Received for an honest review. Details can be found at Avon, an imprint of Harper Collins Publishing, the author's website and My Book Addiction and More.
