I was new to this series and thoroughly enjoyed the selections. As an expat from the UK, I am impressed by Todd's research into the period, and was not unduly distracted by the occasional lapses into American usage in the dialogue. The inclusion of Fountains Abbey, in my native Yorkshire, as the setting for one of th delections was an added pleasure. I'm looking forward to reading other novels in the series. To set the record straight, these are full length novels. Ignore the comments by "Anonymous".
You must read this book if you are a Downton Abby fan or if you are interested in this time period of English because of Downton Abby.
These are NOT novellas - I've bought each of these - for a total of more than $29.99
Since as a come on to series is usually that or call it a lost leader nook rook has had the nerve to bunch without mentioning they are novellas or shorts no one can afford to collect all in a series of prolific writers .
