Unexpectedly good book (because I found it in the 'last chance' section in the doorway). Great mix of info about the houses and the surrounding history. You can read yourself half to death on this. It's a little different in that it has bits of history not easily found elsewhere as it covers a lot of obscure houses in addition to the usual palaces. If you own a lot of British monarchy books, this would still add something to your collection.

I purchased this book to use as a reference tool. It serves that purpose well while giving me beautiful photographs to enhance the material. While I cannot use it as a lone source, it lends a nice support of the material.

I got this for my mom and she hasn't been able to put it down for the last few weeks. I think that she can read sections either separately and chronologically and still get the point of it.

Gave to my wife as a gift, she is AP high school history teacher and it has been a great reference for her to use in classroom

This was a good overview of Great Britain royal history, complete with architecture and cultural information of the various periods. There were little tidbits that may not have been noted before. Lots of visuals as well.
