Overview

The teacher is droning, the students are moaning, and every minute feels like an hour. There's only one thing for a kid drowning in dullness to do: Grab this entertaining notebook and get doodling! It's an absolute lifesaver that looks like an ordinary composition book, but is pure subversive fun, with oodles of doodles to complete, amusing multiple-choice questions to answer, and comic caricatures lampooning the “Bored of Education.” And if the teacher should come around to peek at what's going on? Easy—just turn to the fake class notes in the middle of the book and no one will be the wiser!

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Michele Tremaine
When I was in school many decades ago, I got into trouble for turning over my tablet and drawing pictures when I was bored. Apparently there are lots of youngsters out there who still doodle away their ennui, and Susan McBride has written and illustrated a clever book to help them while away the hours. Designed to mimic the ubiquitous marbleized composition notebook, this volume hides dozens of "idea starters" to spark creativity and keep bright students from falling asleep during dull classes. In the spirit of the medium being the message, McBride's sly suggestions will appeal to the anarchist lurking in so many adolescents. This amusing little volume with its many trompe-d'oeil touches (fortune-cookie slips, coffee stains, smudged and torn letters of reprimand, and so forth) would be a welcome gift to any budding artist or bored junior high student.

I bought this book for my 12 year old nephew who has a gifted imagination, creative and serious doodling abiliities! He was so capitvated with this book it was hours before he would agree to take a break from it. This is the perfect gift for kids who like to draw, at any level, as well as an excellent source to keep a child busy-quiet time, perhaps on a road trip or if for an unfortunate reason they are sick or in the hospital. And the major plus here, NO ELECTRONICS! The kids use their imagination and go wild with it!!! SUPER FUN!!!!

My grandson loved this notebook very much we went looking to see if there was another one for him to fill out. We were both disappointed. Hopefully Ms. McBride comes up with another one filled with activities and ideas just as engrossing as this one.
