Overview

Lady Catherine Harcourt, daughter of a duke, tries to escape her cold, repressive family by eloping with a rake. She is exiled to her aunts' cottage in the Lake District, where she meets Philip Woodmere, a gentleman farmer as kind as he is ruggedly attractive. She is drawn to Philip's strength and warms to his lively family, but a secret from her past threatens their chance for happiness.

THE INCORRIGIBLE LADY CATHERINE, the first in Elena Greene's "Three Disgraces" series, is a heartwarming traditional Regency, originally published through Zebra Books. Sensuality: kisses, one mild sex scene.

Editorial Reviews

Romance Reviews Today - Jane Bowers
The story gives fresh new twists to traditional Regency plotlines and introduces a well-drawn cast of characters, three of whom cry out for their own tales to be told - the notorious Lord Verwood and Catherine's two school friends. ... Elena Greene is a talented writer to watch for when looking for a pleasurable, meaty Regency romance.
All About Romance - Blythe Barnhill
The book is fast-paced, with plenty of action and dialogue... I would recommend The Incorrigible Lady Catherine for Regency fans who like a plot with some action and a hero who's one of the good guys.
RT Book Club - Romantic Times
Regency readers will no doubt enjoy this sweetly tender tale which gives further good evidence of Elena Greene's blossoming talent.

Meet the Author

Elena Greene grew up reading anything she could lay her hands on, including her mother's Georgette Heyer novels. She also enjoyed writing but decided to pursue a more practical career in software engineering. Fate intervened when she was sent on a three year international assignment to England, where she was inspired to start writing romances set in the Regency. Her books have won the National Readers' Choice Award, the Desert Rose Golden Quill and the Colorado Romance Writers' Award of Excellence. Her Super Regency, LADY DEARING'S MASQUERADE, won RT Book Club's award for Best Regency Romance of 2005 and made the Kindle Top 100 list in 2011. When not writing, Elena enjoys swimming, cooking, meditation, playing the piano, volunteer work and craft projects. She lives in upstate New York with her two daughters and more yarn, wire and beads than she would like to admit.

This was my first book by this author. The story started well about the lady being sent to the country to live. It could have evolved into a great romance but did not. No intimatecy until p. 500 and that was nothing. The writing seem not to flow well.

Catherine is young and insecure, her emotionally abusive father has left her feeling unlovable. But of course true love triumps. A delightful story, about 500 pages.
