Library Journal - Library Journal
In this lavishly illustrated book, widely recognized British garden designer Brookes demonstrates effective use of plants and flowers in interior decoration. Plant form and size, leaf and flower color and texture are illustrated in detailalong with containers compatible with the plants as well as decor. Brookes emphasizes the need for considering interior climate (temperature, humidity, light) when choosing plants. A major section offers photographs and text on the use and care of 150 house plants, choice of cut flowers season by season, and instructions for drying and using dried flowers, foliage, and seedheads. Useful for city apartment dwellers as well as house plant devotees in most habitats. Louise B. Hodges, Amherst Cty. P.L., Va.

This book is beautifully illustraded and presents its message in a catchy format. Bold titles of each chapter intice a casual observer to stop and learn more. My son and daughters often call with questions about houseplants. This can be their fun, fast and easy reference. A wonderful Christmas present.
