Just one listen and you will understand why this album is regarded as one of the best of all time. Songs such as ''Give Up The Goods'', ''Temperatures Risin'' and ''Up North Trip'' are great beats and ''Shook Ones'' just is amazing.

Following in the footsteps of Kool G Rap and Rakim, the Infamous Duo show their lyrical style by releasing an album all true hip hop heads should already have by now. This album is filled with song after song of hard hitting beats accompanied by hard hitting lyrics. A must to have in your collection.

Easily one of the top three joints that came out in 95. Mobb's first joint was decent but this is the one that really established these cats. Prodigy is a beast and Havoc's also rips as well as being behind the boards. The production is also hot courtesy of Havoc and Q Tip. The only flaw on this joint is all the talking before Survival of the Fittest. The cameos from Nas, Raekwon, Ghostface, and Q Tip are excellent. Even though the first was not bad, the Infamous is looked upon as Mobb's first album. This is arguably Mobb Deep's best album. Peace to the Infamous.

Editorial Reviews
All Music Guide - Steve Huey
One of the cornerstones of the New York hardcore movement, The Infamous is Mobb Deep's masterpiece, a relentlessly bleak song cycle that's been hailed by hardcore rap fans as one of the most realistic gangsta albums ever recorded. Given Mobb Deep's youthful age and art-school background, it's highly unlikely that The Infamous is drawn strictly from real-life experience, yet it's utterly convincing, because it has all the foreboding atmosphere and thematic sweep of an epic crime drama. That's partly because of the cinematic vision behind the duo's detailed narratives, but it's also a tribute to how well the raw, grimy production evokes the world that Mobb Deep is depicting. ...
