Krista Van Laan has worked in, managed, and built from the ground up multi-level Technical Publications and User Experience departments in high-tech companies in the United States and Europe. She is co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Technical Writing.
JoAnn Hackos has retired as president of Comtech Services, a content-management and information-design firm based in Denver, Colorado. She is director emeritus of the Center for Information Development Management (CIDM), a founder of the OASIS DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) Technical Committee, and an author of the original DITA specification.
