Overview

A gorgeous volume celebrating the personal styles of dynamic creatives, revealing how inspirations translate to the canvas that is home. It is said that a house is a place to dwell, but a home is a space of creation and inspiration. The Inspired Home opens the doors to masterful spaces of celebrated musicians, stylists, writers, producers, designers, and tastemakers. With styles that vary from bohemian modern to beach chic, each space artfully reflects how to live well among one's passions and histories.

The immaculate, mostly glass home of Athena and Victor Calderone in Amagansett, New York, is an inviting sanctuary; musician Moby's historical Hollywood Hills mansion is a collection of mid-century modern pieces and quirky collections; and Danish fashion designer Mads and Cecilie Norgaard's houseboat on the Baltic Sea is a haven of art, books, and gorgeous light. Homes from Italy, Los Angeles, New York, Copenhagen, and beyond leave the reader thoroughly inspired to live with what you love creatively. Exquisitely photographed, this vivid book is a must for anyone who loves sophisticated and whimsical living and artful interiors.

The book opens the doors to masterful spaces of celebrated musicians, stylists, writers, producers, designers and tastemakers. “There’s nothing we enjoy more than seeing how the other half lives—especially the cool creative half. You’ll be jealous and inspired at the same time.” –New York Post

"...beautiful coffee-table book...reaveals the inspiring combination of natural light and accidental, lived-in beauty." -New York Times Magazine

"Good books transport us—and this one takes us right into beautiful homes across the country and beyond." -Martha Stewart Living

“…a brilliant new book…The 208 pages of this highly original book are filled with original, bohemian, quirky and expressive and wildly personal interiors. In this new book, Ficaro and Nickey—deeply involved in the creative worlds of New York—have gathered a worldly roster of talented and ingenious (and home-loving) ‘creatives’. Their pals in the field and friends of friends in the book include stylists, artists, architects, editorial stylists, fashion designers, a photographer, as well as creative directors...The interiors shown in The Inspired Home are highly diverse and diverting. Those ‘at home’ include art directors who plan and style and direct the visuals for catalogs or marketing programs as well as photo stylists for fashion companies and furniture designers, a potter. Few are big names in decorating, but their style, collections, editing, and eccentricity shines through. If you love the comfort, aesthetic and power of ‘imperfection’ this is your book.” –The Style Saloniste

"In a beautifully crafted volume, Kim Ficaro and Todd Nickey immerse themeselves in the private worlds of some public creative types to "reveal the true nature of what makes a home a home." -Vogue Living
