The Instrument Maker and the Mandolin

When the Instrument Maker creates Mandy the mandolin, he never expects to lose her after leaving her in his shop to shelter her from the snow one cold, wintry night. That evening, however, Mandy willingly runs away with a handsome stranger who offers her the world.

Now far from the Instrument maker's shop, Mandy soon realizes this handsome stranger has lied to her as she is forced into a life of hardship at the hands of his daughter and wife. Despite her pressing problems, she continues to think back fondly to the night that she was created and wonders about the Instrument Maker and what her true purpose might be.

When Mandy is eventually taken to a thrift store, her hope of finding her true purpose in a new home revives. Weeks pass by, however, and as she continues to sit on a shelf in the thrift shop, she is reduced to a life of people watching and collecting dust. Then one day, the door opens and in walks the Instrument Maker. She is excited to see him at first, but then she feels a sense of shame. Will he recognize her after all she's been through? And if he does, will he still be glad to see her after she willingly ran away?

Join Mandy as she discovers that second chances really do exist and that it is never too late to experience true redemption, restoration, and a deep sense of purpose in the hands of our Maker.

The Instrument Maker and the Mandolin is a gospel analogy that teaches children that we have a wonderful Maker who loves us and seeks after us, even though we have all willingly gone astray. He offers us another chance and can redeem us, restore us, and give us purpose as an instrument in His hands.
