My daughters loced this book.  Aside from the fact that is just a nice story, it helped them with the idea that they are never really alone - at night, away at school, wherever.  It also, most unexpectedly, helped when their Grandfather died.  They were able to believe that the invisible string really does reach to heaven, and it made it a tiny bit easier for them.  I've given this book as a gift several times, both for birthdays and for sad occasions, and have gotten good feedback from other moms too.
