Overview

A story about losing your way and finding your life. Book 1 of 3.
Elizabeth Lara built a perfect life as San Francisco’s top divorce attorney, but when she loses her great-aunt Mags, the woman who raised her, she boards a plane and leaves it all behind.

The Irish shores welcome her as she learns a shocking truth, kept secret for thirty-five years. Devastated and now alone in the world, Beth tries to find peace in a beautiful cottage by Lough Rhiannon, but peace isn’t what fate had in mind. Almost as soon as she arrives, Beth’s solitary retreat into the magic wilds of Ireland is interrupted by Connor Bannon. A man with light brown hair, ice blue eyes and a secret of his own. He’s gorgeous, grieving, and completely unexpected.

With the help of Mags’ letters, the colorful townspeople of Dingle, and Connor, Elizabeth might just find a way back to the girl she lost long ago and become the woman she always wanted to be.

A Note From Jules:
Be forewarned you might not want to start this book late at night—several readers have reported “gobbling it up” and going on to the next book immediately. This book is literary women’s fiction, it is not a traditional romance, per se.

It’s a trilogy, not a standalone. All three books are vital to the story: The Irish Cottage, The London Flat, and The Paris Apartment. If I crammed Elizabeth & Connor's story into one book it would be 1,000 pages long. That being said, I’ve found that traditional romance readers are VERY happy at the end of London. So take a ride with me, first to Ireland and then the world.

“It was like a drug that I couldn’t get enough of. The Irish Cottage started it all and now that I have finished all three, I’m starting all over.” -Amazon Reviewer

"I started this book and couldn't put it down. It brought me to Ireland and I never wanted to leave." -Amazon Reviewer
"There is so much to love in this, the first in the [The Irish Heart] Series...I wanted to look out my cottage window and see a Lough of my own and the pub was just asking me to come visit...This story pulled me in from the very first page and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance, stories of starting over, or romances set in other countries." -Goodreads

"Picked this up because it was set in Ireland, and it took me right back there. Wonderful writer, if you love Ireland and a good read I would recommend this book. I will most definitely be reading the rest of the series." -Amazon Reviewer

“I laughed, I cried, I hoped & dreamed. The series was beautifully told through poignant letters. A keeper of the heart.” -Amazon Reviewer

"Excellent book, one that was very hard to put down. Well-written, exciting, great author! I highly recommend this book to all...Get it then get comfortable because you will be in for a good long read, enjoy!" -Goodreads

"Great book! Elizabeth embodies strength and determination as well as compassion and forgiveness. The Irish Cottage combines the fairytale of Ireland with the real life struggles we all face." -Amazon Reviewer

"I bought the book yesterday and couldn't put it down. Very romantic, very sexy, with a heroine who can save her own bacon...and the wounded, hunky hero--be still my heart." -Goodreads

Meet the Author

Juliet & Rebecca Gauvin—two pen names, one author. Juliet took on a second name, Rebecca, to separate her spicier erotic novellas from her longer, more developed romance novels. Titles published with both names or under Rebecca only, will tend to lean towards shorter erotica—always with a touch of romance. Juliet’s novels will still have plenty of kick, but will include a whole lot more story.

Jules is originally from California. She is a true, hopeless, all-in romantic. Her first kiss was with a Frenchman in Paris, her first love was an Eagle Scout, her first crash and burn was with someone from Harvard (Jules studied history at Yale—she should have known better).

The Freshman may or may not be based on actual people, events and organizations which she encountered in college.

The Irish Cottage (the full  novel is currently available exclusively through AMAZON) was inspired by Jules’ love for all things Irish. A love sparked in her teens by Riverdance; fanned into a flame when she befriended a group of Irish kids in France; and blazed into a wildfire by a visit to the Emerald Isle.

Earlier this year, an AncestryDNA test confirmed what Jules has suspected for a while: she’s a third Irish (one of her grandparents continues to be unknown, but as luck would have it, the test divined that he must have been an Irish-Swede).

Very refreshing, engaging... and can be quite personally rewarding, if you're willing to look in the mirror that Mags hands to each of us. The rest of the series is unavoidable ~ I must have it.

I totally enjoyed this book. It was unusual had something different going for it in the letters . The characters were fun & not always predictable. The unpredictability was a very nicechange of pace for me.

So I read it all today. I was hooked about 20 pages in. As soon as I finish this review I am purchasing the London Flat book, though I'll wait to start it (ha, I should get something done around here!)

The allure of this book was the story of Elizabeth rediscovering wh she is while in Ireland by means of Mag's letters. It sounded really cool, especially because of my affinity for Irish culture. However, i felt that this book focused more on Elizabeth's relationship with Connor. I wouldnt have minded it so much if their romance was nit described so graphically. Personally, I believe that the "dirty details" removed the romance. And there were several cliches that i found unbearable. Elizabeth was developed as a character with minimal faults and many unrealistic characteristics, making her character unrelateable. If only the whole book was like the last two chapters.

It was hard to put down. If I'm investing in reading these stories, there better be a wedding somewhere along the way or I'll be very upset.

I read all of the time - ever since my first complete book when I was in the third grade. Prior to that one - I would read the first and last chapters. Anyway, this one was worth my time and my money. Only negative was the explicit sex scenes - not necessary.

Can I rent this place? OMG! What a great way to end my summer reading...I was transported across the ocean and nestled into this wonderous place called Lough Rhiannon. I didn't want to leave! Connor was everything a woman could want in her Irish friend/lover! I could see the mist as it came over the countryside in the author's excellent detailed writing. I could barely put this one down. Thanks for not getting too overly graphic in the sex scenes, by the way. What the author gave us was just right. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it was a bit slow in the middle reading during her depression, but it did pick up after that! ;)

First time reader. Very nice read. I enjoyed the fact that it delt with normal problems we humans live through. Made me wish I was there. And I liked the fact she's not a wimp. She's got backbone. And a quick wit. I am looking forward to the next book . .

Enjoyed the story very much, good advice about following your dreams and not losing yourself in a job. Had to buy the whole series, but it was worth it. Thanks, B&N for the first book free.
