    Pure Italian!

I don’t know where to begin. I simply love pastas and pizzas and most Italian dishes. I have been wanting for some time to start making my own Italian dishes but was skeptical of the time required and complexity. I then stumbled on this book and I have been blown away. The recipes are amazing detailed and easy to follow and have been making my own pizza now for a while and I am over the moon. I would say give it a go and you won’t be disappointed.

Anyone who wants to cook a great Italian meal but gets intimidated should try the Italian Cookbook for Beginners. There’s a great selection of classic Italian dishes, and very detailed but easy to follow instructions. To quote the book’s introduction, all that’s needed is “mangia” – “enjoy your food,” in Italian.  The short but detailed sections on Italian culinary history, with simple menu planning, make this useful for novice chefs, and just plain fun for foodies.

I enjoyed reading about how Italian cuisine has evolved over the years and become a staple in American food! Before reading this cookbook, I viewed cooking Italian cuisine as a daunting and nearly impossible task for a person that normally doesn't frequent the kitchen! However, I am actually excited about cooking now and can’t wait to get to the grocery to purchase these everyday ingredients! The recipe for the Beef Spiedini sounds absolutely scrumptious!

I really enjoyed what this book had to offer.  I'm not very good at cooking but I wanted to try my hand at making one of my favorite types of food, Italian.  There are many recipes simple enough for beginners like myself.  Although the book is simple for the beginner, some of the recipes can get pretty in-depth with the various types of spices and sauces.  Overall I enjoyed this book.  I thought that it was both to the point and very simple to navigate.  Not only that, it offers a lot of history into the Italian food culture with each recipe.

As a beginning cook I was excited to read these clear and straightforward recipes. I feel ready to attempt them all. The author also takes time to explain traditional Italian foods (and the American versions we may be used to). I also appreciate the suggestions about when to buy a high-end ingredient and when a cheaper version will do.
