Meet the Author

My books are:1. 'The John Doe' which is free.2. The four books of 'Valencio's Story.'A recent review of this series includes the words: 'The whole saga is quite a deeply thought out story of sexuality - that one can come to yearn for something that is hated and feared. In the end, I thought it would be a tragedy, but it was not a tragedy.''Valencio's Story' is to be published in two hardcover volumes - to be available in 2013. Many people find actual books easier to read, especially with a sweeping saga like 'Wizards' Slave.' That will be Volume 1, while the three other stories will be combined into Volume 2.

    Quite a page turner!!

I truly enjoyed this story...kept me interested from the first page to the last! I laughed, I cried, I cheered and even found myself getting angry on behalf of "John Doe!" A hidden gem...

    a gripping read.

I really liked this one. It kept my attention start to finish. At first, I was not too sure I liked the ending, but I kept thinking about it, and finally decided it was just the perfect way to complete the story. The John Doe, mystery man, angel or something else? He glowed at the end. I think he might have been an angel.

    more from this reviewer

    Just a bit different.

This is a book that holds the attention all the way through, and then keeps you thinking. It would be good for a book club discussion. I think that women would like it better than men. Not a romance or a thriller, I found it difficult to assign it to any 'genre.' It is just a bit different.

I am only about 100 pages in but feel compelled to make this rev

I am only about 100 pages in but feel compelled to make this review because this issue is driving me bananas. The author is an Aussie yet sets her story in modern day America, beginning in NYC. Yet she write with typical Britishisms. No articles before nouns defining places (hospital v. the hospital), wards rather than floors or units, and I could overlook those except for Boxing Day. Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and was the day when household servants were given their annual payment of a set of clothes. They also got a box that contained the masters' cast offs. It is still celebrated but has become something akin to Black Friday, a major shopping day. It is NOT celebrated in the state of NY or in very many places in America at all. I do wish that authors would not site their stories in the US if they don't know squat about the place or its culture. Especially when a large part of it takes place on a military base (the errors here are numerous but, to some degree, in our favor as the bulk of the staff behave more like TV Pom (British) officers than American ones.) I am enjoying the slow lead out to just who John Doe might be though I did page to the ending as I wrote this review. The author kindly left it up to the reader to determine the true nature of John Doe. If you are not a critical reader and don't expect any answers, can enjoy what is basically a character study rather than a plot driven book, this is a good read (especially for free.) However, I do wish that this author had not chosen to place her story in a country whose culture, language and landscape she does not know nor understand. It would have worked just as well if it had taken place in Oz or Britain and not been half as irritatingly clueless. If it had been written by someone who really understood America, it would have been a far grimmer story, though.

Good Science-fiction mystery book! Yea for John!

You'll either like reading this story of a man of mysterious background or not. Apparently written by a British or Austrilian author due to a particular useage of the word "fitting" to describe a epiletic spasm brought on by neurogical or physical trama.
Interesting view of how a person would be treated if displaying remarkable abilities non-native to human beings.
    Good read over all.
    Don't expect a informative resoultion.

    ?????

I loved this book up until the end. WHY? Because it did not have an ending. You never findout any real truths about John. I would have given 5 stars if there had been some kind of reveal. NOTHING! I hope there is a sequel or I will never read this author again. It really is a crummy way to treat your audience.

    Makes you think

Took a while to read, you never really know who he is, but revolves around the theme of what if, what would we do if our culture encountered a being with abilities we didn't understand. Now for out there thinking, what have we done?

    Well I read it

This book was not for me. It was well written, about 400 pages, free. There was some violence. It had a very unusual plot and was Science Fiction in genre. There was some romance. It had a good flow. It simply was not the type of book I like to read. Because it had so many pluses I gave it four stars.
