Kate Jones Thriller Series Vol. 1 includes the complete text for the following four novellas:

BAD SPIRITS (Books 1-5): Kate Jones is on the run with a backpack full of money, intent on finding her way back to the United States from Mexico. Unfortunately, a ruthless drug lord named Salazar is just as intent on finding her, retrieving his stolen money, and making her pay for ever having left him. Is there anyone she can trust?

DEAD OF WINTER: Kate Jones is hiding out in small town Alaska when she witnesses an execution-style murder. Convinced the killers are Salazar's men and desperate to stop them from finding her, she reports the crime to local law enforcement, hoping to put them off her trail so she can escape.

DEATH RITES: When Kate has to leave Alaska (and Sam) behind, she runs to the last place she remembers feeling safe: the North Shore of Oahu. Against her better judgment, she re-establishes old connections, and soon faces a new problem in Alek, a gifted carver and avid surfer.

Then a brutal murder and theft of a priceless artifact from a museum is discovered, and Kate's thrown into the middle of what appears to be a violent ancient sect come to life. Her only chance of survival is to rely on her wits...

...and the ancient gods of Hawaii.

TOURING FOR DEATH: Kate Jones is hiding out from her shady past driving jeep tours through the rugged high desert of northern Arizona, determined to stop looking over her shoulder and find peace from her mistake of a gun-toting, former life. Testifying against a Mexican drug lord and a dirty DEA agent didn't turn out to be a life enhancing choice and she's been on the move ever since.

Now, five years have passed with no sign of trouble and Kate's finally starting to believe she's safe. Her current goal is to make enough money so she can get lost in the tropics when the tourist trade dies off. Unfortunately, it's the tourists that are dying off and she may be next.

"...Great story, fast-paced, quick read and all around fun!"

"...it's a non-stop thrill ride..."

"...It's fast-paced from the getgo and the action continues through to the end. This is how I like my books!"

A girl on the run! - an exciting novella series. Review originally featured on Bookluvrs Haven Talk about a woman with the worst damn luck on the entire planet! First she falls for ultimate bad boy, and leaving him (with a bag full of money) sets her on a patch of excitement that no one wishes for. The looking-over-your-shoulder-for-the-rest-of-your-life kind of excitement. Not fun. But Kate is not a weakling either, and her resourcefulness was astonishing. This is a woman that will not quit easily and will not go down without a fight. But man... how many fights can one person take. Kate sure can take a whole lot! WEEWWWW I am exhausted, people! The first novella introduces us to the beginning of her troubles, and her constant run for her life as she is chased by her lover's goons. They always seem to be a step right behind her, way too close for comfort most of those encounters, but Kate always seems to find a way. The ending is a little abrupt for my taste. I was anticipating a greater sense of satisfaction, if only in the prolonged recounting of justice. But Kate does not yet feel safe, and keeps running. Each novella that follows in this first batch of the series are just as quick and exciting as the first, without a single dull moment. It didn't take me long to rip through them all, absolutely riveted to every word. I am thrilled that I was able to read this series, and thank the author for being generous enough to provide me with her first 4 novellas of this thrilling series. *I received a eBook copy of this book for free to review from the author; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.*

"The Kate Jones Thriller Series" consists of 4 novellas of about 80ish words for each book...nice fast reading. DV Berkom pens her plots fast paced and smoothly flowing with tons of action, thrills, with characters that are relatable and really likeable. I was thrilled to find that you can go from book to book and not miss a step. A must read for all crime, suspense fans. *5 Star Rating* This review is based on a complimentary copy which was provided for an honest review.

A compilation of 4 novellas, each containing about 80 pages, this is one sure-fire thrill ride as we follow Kate through a series of misadventures and close-call escapes. I haven’t, even after 4 novellas, decided if Kate is exceptionally lucky, clever or just cursed with an impulsive nature and a really bad sense of potential danger. But, to be honest, if each of the upcoming adventures are as well conceived and written as the four contained in this volume: I don’t care. The author has created a main character that is easy to both understand and appreciate, with humor, grace and the ability to think on her feet, with a take no prisoners attitude that is very clearly based in her struggles for independence and survival. Each adventure is fast-paced and tightly written, the situations are entirely plausible and all too possible, crafted to create a tension in the reader that mirrors the pace of the action and the increased danger levels. This is a compilation that you will breeze through, turning page after page to reach the end – with the full impact of each story arriving after you are entangled in the next. These are delightfully sized and instantly engaging stories, perfect for a quick escape into another world, or a slightly longer one as you devour each of the four stories, unable to put the book down. I look forward to Kate’s next adventures – I only hope they are available soon! I received an eBook copy from author for purpose of honest review for Full Moon Bites tours. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for the purpose of review. The review was my honest opinion and I was not paid for this service. This book consists of four novellas about heroine Kate Jones, who is constantly making poor choices that get her into some sticky situations. The author does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. It was really easy to picture what was going on in the story. The author does a fairly decent job of keeping your attention and keeping you on the edge of your seat. The story in itself was enjoyable. However, what I did not like about the book was just when the story is getting really good the author rushes to bring it to a close leaving the reader wondering what just happened? The author jumps from a smooth story to an abrupt end; almost as though part of the story is missing. (no information to show you how they got to this point before it just quits.) The end of each novella was so disappointing.
