This book speaks kid¿s language without being ungrammatical. I read it to a 2nd grade class where I volunteer and they couldn¿t wait for the next session and for further Freddy Thresher adventures. They also love finding the word ¿fin¿ hidden every illustration.

I'm an elementary school teacher and I've used the Freddy books for small book clubs. Freddy is a likable character. In each book there is a problem he's confronted with, and the students can usually relate to it in some way. It's easy to engage the students in conversations about character traits, making predictions, and evaluating character behavior. An added treat is that each illustration has the word "fin" hidden in it, and the kids love trying to find it.
