Barnes & Noble - Lisa Zhito
Disco beats, easy R&B, rhythmic rap, and sparkling pop combine on the third release from Trin-i-Tee 5:7 for a collection that's almost smooth to a fault. Often compared to such mainstream female acts as TLC and En Vogue, Trin-i-Tee 5:7 may not distinguish themselves from their sisters in the general market with The Kiss, but the slick production may garner the trio some new crossover fans. Groove-laden tunes like the sultry "I Wish" and the upbeat "Dance Like Sunday" don't overplay their Christian message; instead, the girls stay squarely astride the fence between mainstream and Christian pop. Even the title track, "With a Kiss," a song about Judas's betrayal of ...

Groove-laden tunes like the sultry "I Wish" and the upbeat "Dance Like Sunday" don't overplay their Christian message; instead, the girls stay squarely astride the fence between mainstream and Christian pop. Even the title track, "With a Kiss," a song about Judas's betrayal of Jesus, could be taken as a song about a jilted lover if one didn't know better. If Trin-i-Tee 5:7 do harbor crossover dreams, the group may wish to explore more of the urban flair displayed on "Holla," which has spice to spare, rather than generic R&B/pop -- while pleasing, it's not necessarily the stuff that great crossover careers are built on.
All Music Guide - Jonathan Widran
Destiny's Child pays lip service to God on occasional tracks, but Adrian Anderson, Angel Taylor, and Chanelle Hayes are gospel's answer to that group and are more the real deal. They combine the same picture-perfect harmonies, with thumping soul grooves by a sea of top producers, but are focused on the Lord 24/7. Not that they're beyond wanting to be as commercial as possible -- the opening track is a remix of the final song, "Holla," featuring a slightly thicker groove and a rap interlude. There is certainly a fair amount of straightforward praise songs, including the seductive and danceworthy old-school soul-vibing "Dance Like Sunday." But what sets Trin-I-Tee 5:7 apart is the interesting lyrical approaches, which tackle themes beyond the usual repetitive worship lines listeners have all heard. The ballad "Lord" tackles the issues of people using God for bad purposes and people with the best intentions going astray. A title like "With a Kiss" would mean late-night seduction for Destiny's Child, but here is an acoustic guitar-driven reading of the relationship between Jesus and Judas, and the Betrayal. The mid-tempo advice-oriented tune "What He Wants" addresses the difficulties of romantic temptation and urges listeners to follow God rather than worry about pleasing people. There's also a gentle anthemic reading of "People Get Ready," an important song that deserves a new generation of listeners. Often, spoken word interludes seem pretentious, but here they show the happy spirit of the girls making the music. And that's what it's all about, isn't it?

    Awesome!!! Just awesome!!!!

I'm speechless. I'm a big fan of gospel music but moreso of the R&B/Hip Hop style of gospel. Music is a big part of my life and this music is very anointing to the spirit.

Trin-i-tee 5:7 is da bomb. Holla!

This cd is all about Christ, but they break it down for you so that you can understand it. It is inspiring and it has the beats of secular music because they are trying to reach the youth!

First rate album by 1st rate artistes!

This album captured my attention from the very start. It oozes quality and distinction. Trin-i-tee have made a very clever move into more secular mainstream R&B/Soul, but it's a move well executed. I particularly enjoyed the Urban remix of 'Holla'(Track1), Dance like it's Sunday(4), I wish (13, brings back memories) and 'All my life'(15). Intelligent vocal arragements and music production - I'm even making repeat purchases!
