Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Prolific knitwear designer Okey (Alt Fiber) shares her knowledge in this accessible introduction to creating and selling patterns. There's less focus on the act of designing than on establishing and maintaining one's reputation as a designer, but the advice is useful. Almost half of the book consists of informative interviews with well-known knitwear designers, who share their insights on the creative and business side of design work. Thanks to websites like Ravelry, designing and selling knitting patterns is big business.

Must read for beginning independant knitwear designers

Okey packs so much information in here. Very up to date and very relevant in an online world. If you're just a casual knitter, this book may have too much information. But if you're interested in knitwear design as career, this is the most informative, easy to understand book out there. Okey is also just a great writer; she keeps it funny, entertaining and real.
