About the Author

Eugene Ugrumov was born in Russia in 1937. His father was a military doctor and his mother was a librarian. Literature was part of Eugene's life since his early childhood. He and his two siblings read fairy tales over long Siberian winters where the magic of storytelling took them around the world and across time. Eugene graduated from the Technology and Sciences University of Chelyabinsk in 1964. He met Ludmila, his wife of almost five decades, during his studies. Eugene and Ludmila moved to the United States in 1996 with their two daughters, who now have their own families. More recently, Eugene has been working at the local library and spending time with his grandchildren.
