Barbara Samuel delivers a tightly-woven story of star-crossed lovers in THE LAST CHANCE RANCH. Forced into a violent solution to a brutal relationship, Tanya Bishop has served her time in prison and is looking to put her life back together as well as reunite with her son. Antonio was only three when she gave him up to be raised by Ramon, a gentle man who has been in love with Tanya since they were both teens. This is a quick read because the story is compelling and the characters so very likeable. A terrific story, well-told.

This is one of my favorites. An abused wife, Tanya ends up in jail for murder, leaving her 3 yr. old son behind. Forced to give him up, she let her husband's cousin adopt him. Now after 11 years, she is out of jail and going to work at the Last Chance Ranch as a cook. And she will be with her son and the dad who adopted him and runs the ranch for troubled boys. In this way, her son will get to know her as a person ,and not his birth father's killer.I have to say I got a bit misty eyed near the end, and I think only a hard hearted person wouldn't feel touched at how this all unfolds.
