There isn't anything I don't like about this book!
Told from the alternating perspectives of the two main characters, The Last Dance tells the story of the handsome star quarterback, and the beautiful brainiac chosen to tutor him after his return to school following a serious football accident. The voices of the teenagers ring true -- I felt like I was around my son and his friends. I think this book would be right at home in a high school library, or YA section at the public library. There's much to appeal to older teens -- the pressures of performing academically, making college decisions, peer pressure at school, romance, and even football!
Don't let the fact that Kiki Hamilton is known for her Faerie Ring historical fantasy series keep you from buying this book. She is obviously a talented author, unrestricted by genre. You've got to read this book.

It was light and heartwarming but also a bit sad at times and had the characters dealing with some difficult stuff. I really liked seeing the evolution of the relationship of the two main characters. The story didn't go too.. in depth/ expand on some things I would've liked to know more about but I really enjoyed it overall. It was a quick and cute read. Was this review helpful?
