    Crazy

I didn't like the hero or the heroine until the end. I hated him wanted him to die a terrible death. I hated her for getting off with a murderer. Submission to survive I understand, A body reacting against your will happens, but then allowing yourself to fall in love and want more from a man who murders someone is sick. That's how I felt. He kills and she loses her moral compass because he make her come. Is prepared to let her loving parents suffer not knowing what happened to there only child so she can spent forever getting off with her Master, Christian the vampire. Even writing now I 'm confused because by the time I finished I was in love with Christian and touched by Juliet's empathy and compassion. It was graphic and shocking.

    Fabulous, Dark and Sexy

Wow. WOW. Seriously, Wow. I loved this book. From the first word to the last, I couldn’t get enough. It is hot, like white hot times infinity. It is dark and sexy. It’s mysterious.

Christian is a 782 year old vampire. He’s been around the block a few times. Enough to lose interest in following what society says is right or wrong. He is immortal, and he will do what he damn well chooses to do. And not you, or I, or Joe Blow down the street are going to tell him any different. Christian is the type of vampire that will take your typical alpha male and disintegrate him.

Ok, Liz, calm it down… gush much?

As soon as Juliette’s story starts I’m frightened. The author does a superb job of bringing that fear to life as you realize that you are the only one home, and that home is now being broken into. And you are only 13. My pulse quickened and I hoped they wouldn’t find her. But they did. Thud Thud THUD. Yeah, that was my heart beating when I was reading it.

She keeps her eyes closed, just like the blurb says. She does as she is told. But then… then…. AHHHH!! I can’t tell you!!!!! Dang it!!

Every word in this story drips fear. But it also wreaks of knowing. Juliette knows that when its over, its not really over. And boy oh boy, that Christian is one clever vampire. He decides he will have her.

“That night six years ago, he’d seemed to be somewhat in charge of things. His voice held the same maturity and dark command back then that it holds now.”

Maybe I am a vampire groupie, but Christian’s brutal charisma makes his capture of Juliette seem like a pretty good deal to me. It’s almost as if she is being afraid because she thinks she should be.

“It is the hedonistic and animal side that craves pleasure, even if the cost is pain and fear.”

This book is poetic and dark beauty, most of it is the channel of Juliette’s thoughts, the journey her soul takes. I may gush and go on and on about this story, but take heed of the warnings, this story is not for everyone. It is dark erotica. But it is fabulous and well written. If you have an open mind it will take you on a fabulous trip.

It’s not just about sex. It explores ownership, just like the author, Kitty Thomas, says she likes to do with her writing. It explores lust versus love, need versus want. Forever versus as long as he lets you live…. See, Christian knows he has a line that he will eventually cross, and he knows that the end is near for Juliette. She’s human, she will not be able to withstand his needs.

This one had me on edge

I mean what else can you say about this book the book was so f****** brilliant, I was going in and out of emotions with Juliette. Juliette had Stockholm Syndrome, but hell can you blame her if you was in that situation what would you do?? She had a survival instinct ,and wanted to live. I am willing to admit that some of the situations had me pissed. Christian is a vampire and make no mistake he is the predator and you are the prey. He will never apologize for what he is,so when your time is up with him your time is up...But Juliette changed game!!!!

The Last Girl felt more like someone writing down their vampire ra pe fantasy. ~ Under the Covers

I have been looking forward to reading The Last Girl it has had lots of good reviews and after reading Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas, which although was disturbing I really enjoyed, I thought I knew what to expect. But I was wrong. I didn’t like this.

This book and Comfort Food are essentially the same story only this has a paranormal twist. Normal girl gets kidnapped, her kidnapper abuses her in all ways possible but the girl submits and starts to like and crave it. However, where in Comfort Food I felt like it was interesting; an exploration of the victims feelings and sensations whilst trying to cope with her experiences and ultimately being broken (or maybe set free?) by them? The Last Girl felt more like someone writing down their vampire rape fantasy.

I guess there is nothing wrong with that, apparently rape fantasies are one of womankind’s most frequent sexual fantasies and obviously you can’t have BDSM with out sadism, think of the poor masochists?! But, I get the feeling that this wasn’t supposed to be a vampire rape fantasy, but more of an exploration of someones psyche as they slowly get broken down and start loving and hating their abuse and abuser.

This book just wasn’t to my taste, hence the low rating, it made me uncomfortable, but not in a way that made me think as other books have, just uncomfortable and although I may try another Kitty Thomas book, I may have to leave it for a while!

My review of Comfort Food is HERE if you want to take a peek!

    Good read

Interesting story...bdsm romance of the slightly dark, somewhat cruel variety with a generous dose of kink.

    WOW

This books is CRAZY!! It is so good i finished in one reading. What the characters go, its just O-M-G. I definitely think tht Kitty Thomas did it yet again with this book, i love that this book is a vampire related book (so i know pathetic, but i can't help it). If you like vampire related stories and a fan of Kitty's Thomas writing, you will love this book. And the ending, i loved the ending, but hated becuase i didn't want the story to be over.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE!! SPOILERS ALERT!!!

I love adore this book my favorite from this author. the main character is getting tired of the BDSM lifestyle she is currently living and feels as if its fake she wants to really be owned so she starts an online romance with the guy from and isolated island where the men are the masters and women are actually owned by law he sells her a pipe dream and convinces her to give up her American citizenship to become a citizen of the Island and a slave and once he owns her its like hell on earth finally he sells her to ths guy rumored to have killed his last slave thinking because he cant break her and he thinks the other guy can but the new guy is not what he appears to be... and just when the main character finds peace hell reaches back out once more to grab her
definately one of my favorite BDSM books however one should note that some of the scenes are kinda brutal nothing to crazy but still pretty intense so if you have a weak disposition its not for you

    Awful

Rape and abuse passed off as BDSM. There are lots of great BDSM erotica books out there. This is NOT one of them.

This book was a bit of a stray from what I normally read, but since it had to do with vampires, I thought I'd give it a go. The story was pretty well written, although the plot and setting felt a bit cliched. The characters were interesting but flat and stereotypical - especially the two main characters, Juliette and Christian. I felt that I had read several versions of this same story before, only in different packaging. The storyline flowed well and the steamy scenes were certainly - *steamy.* It was a fast paced read and although it wasn't quite for me, lovers of paranormal romance and dark erotica are sure to enjoy it.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I tried to like this book because of the pretty cover, but I have to say the storyline fell way short on delivery, there were no other feelings other than terror and obssession coming from the main character and an abusive and cold 'love' interest :(
