    Fun, fairly interesting read

It's a story about relationships--how they work, why they may not, the concerns that drive allowing them to develop or not. Four stars may be a bit much (I wanted to give 3.5 stars), but the characters were thoughtful, as were the relationships. There's enough going on in each of their lives to make the story interesting beyond the developing personal & sexual connections being made.

One minor, almost inconsequential negative note, which is more a commentary on my feeling that m/m romance stories should be written by men, not women. I mean -- come on, how much can a woman really understand about m/m sex? I try to imagine me, being a guy, writing a lesbian sex scene and I laugh at the impossibility of it all. Truth be told, however, women seem able to write better stories, on the whole, and even the sex stuff is often largely on target, so....

On the other hand, a male author would not,I should think, refer to a bench press as a deadlift, or a barbell as a dumbbell -- a little miscue I've already noticed in another of Ms. Hauser's stories. Trivial remark, I admit, but it reminds you that the author is a woman and makes me wish, yet again, that more men could pen thoughtful, interesting, well-written stories.
