This series is amazing! Love Helen and the rest of the gang. All the characters have depth, with flaws and reasons to love each of the main characters. The plot lines are great, weaving each of the stories together into a fantastic series. The books are well edited with very few errors for being self published. I would suggest reading this series in order, as the author really does intertwine all of these books together. Don't worry though, the author actually offers the first one or two for free, and the rest are, at the most, $3.00. Thank you LS Sygnet for this series. Hope you have much more in store for this gang inside that wonderful brain of yours. Keep them coming and I'll keep buying! Love your style!! --SPeeD

Finally finished with the series. This was a great suspenseful story. I hope there will be more of Helen & Johnny in the future. If not, it ended the series well.

Love the series. It is unfortunate there are areas of this book which are missing. Pages 7, 13 and 137 have whited out areas which are supposed to be paragraphs. This is very disturbing, esp page 137, because important info is just gone. I've tried archiving the book and reloading, but the problem persists. If you can overlook this problem, you'll still enjoy the book. Unfortunately that and some editing problems caused me to remove stars on this book.

Kept waiting and hoping, book after book, for Helen to just let go of the dark side. To come to some level of acceptance and perhaps peace. But it would seem the writer is determined that Helen should remain stuck and not let her grow and become more. Now the stories are just formulaic and boringly repetetive. Kitt

This is the 9th book in the Ericcson series which I found to be one of the best books in the series thus far. With many twists and turns it kept m interest throughout. I highly recommend this book for all mystery readers!

Sygnet holds true to good plots and the continuing stories in the series.

I couldn't put the book down. I've read all the other Eriksson books, and this book was just as great as the others! There were many references to previous stories, so it would definitely help if you read the other books before this one. But this one was very suspenseful! Loved it.

Bottom line: excellent and well researched. The author has built some very believable characters (which you truly do like or hate, and some which are just interesting from their twisted thinking) and the series delves into the darker places of people's minds... I am particularly fascinated on the idea that there is a greater good than what our broken justice system is capable of. There were times I just laughed at the protagonist's ability to get under others' walls, but the only complaint for me which I found annoying was a certain closed-minded attitude in 'Helen' in certain areas which slowed her at times from seeing the whole truth. Intelligent people who operate on a level above the norm have the unfortunate trait of pride in sometimes in areas where they are uncomfortable. These attitudes might have been taken a bit too far, although that is a minor issue. The morality issues of good vs. evil, and dealing with our own weaknesses sometimes draw toward evil gave a nice backdrop in dealing with these horrific crimes and the efforts to solve them. The author has great imagination, and kept me involved through her books... her training in psychology shows. The only real problem is I get the feeling that she is transcribing her novels to her Ipad, and that causes certain oddities at times in grammar (I might be wrong, but have noted the same thing when I have used the software) - the later books were better edited than the earlier books, but its a minor thing when compared to the quality of the story. These are all quality stories, and makes me want more from these characters.

Truthfully, I read anywhere from 3-5 books a week. It can get expensive so I usually look for the free books and discounted books. I stumbled upon this DARKWATER BAY series and read all 10 in one week!   LS Sygnet's books have become an addiction!  Her characters are deep, complex, sophisticated and there is no token sex filler.  There is supsenseful tension throughout each one of her books.  A very smart andcerebral style of writing. Absolutely, a spectacular read!

I have read all 8 books in this series. Each book is a stand alone story with a thread that connects each novel together so I would recommend reading them in order as there are references to previous books. Doctor Eriksson progressively grows with each challenge and the main characters grow along side her. I found each book to be well written and well developed. The author does a fine job of wrapping up the story line so there are no loose ends. There are some editing problems but nothing too drastic.
