All Music Guide - Jason Ankeny
A rare pairing of A-list Hollywood composers, The Last of the Mohicans teams Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman, who replaced the former midway through production. The resulting score suffers from the schizophrenia one would expect given its abrupt creative shift, but proves greater than the sum of its parts thanks to a series of impressively epic orchestral themes. While he wisely relegates synthesizers to the background, Edelman vaults his electronics front and center, and his glossy modern sensibilities are a poor fit with the subject matter. Last of the Mohicans nevertheless proved a bestseller, buoyed largely by the inclusion of Clannad's mystical love theme "I Will Find You," although some listeners will find its new age feel-goodery a little much to swallow.

    A reviewer

I have been listening to this CD since it's original release date over a decade ago. I play it all the time. Once, I took it with me to test on some new speakers in a store and people stopped me to ask what it was. I never have, nor never will, tire of it.

The True Sound of the Frontier

This was when America was America, before the settlements and the shopping malls. And the sound of this album mixes Celtic, Americana, Native American, and Scotish roots music to get the flavor of the film.

Top 10 movie soundtrack of all time

an absolute wonder to listen to. If Blake, Frost, or Faulkner wrote music, this is what it would sound like. This soundtrack touches you like no other.

    Beautiful...

This is simply one of the most beautiful film scores I have ever heard. No soundtrack has ever captured the emotion and romance of a movie so perfectly.

Excellent music from two very good composers

This is another extraordinary soundtrack, combining heart-throbbing tracks from Trevor Jones and more laid back themes from Randy Edelman. Jones' ''Promentory'' and Edelman's ''River walk'' are definitely worth playing over and over.
