Editorial Reviews

Toby Bromberg
The Last To Know is a deliciously creepy novel that will have you looking over your shoulder as you read. The thrills are intense, the heroine easy to identify with, and the suspense never stops. Only the brave will read this when they’re home alone!
Romantic Times
From The Critics
Suburban Townsend Heights is a quiet place where people still do not have to lock their homes or cars. However, the peaceful tranquillity vanishes when stay-at-home mom Jane Kendall disappears. The police do not know that Jane jumped off a cliff into a raging river in order to save the life of her child Schuyler. Someone forced Jane to jump using her beloved child as leverage. The townsfolk search for Jane, hoping to find her unharmed. Two other stay-at-home moms are killed leaving peer Tasha Banks frightened that she could be next. Tasha feels alone as her spouse is emotionally on another planet. However, her part of the nightmare begins on a rainy evening when her children are missing.Wendy Corsi Staub is making quite a popular name for herself amidst the psychological suspense audience as a master of escalating tension that even frightens the reader. The Last To Know is not the type of action thriller that one reads when no one else is around because as it happened to Jane, it could happen to you.

    Another Excellent Novel by Staub

As some of the previous reviews have stated, Wendy Corsi Staub keeps the reader on the edge of their seat! Not only that, you can never guess who the killer might be. You need to wait, and keep reading until the end to find out! This type of writing makes the story more exciting, leading people to read more and more books. I am one of them. This is an awesome book, and probably my favorite by this author! Two thumbs up. Excellent book that will be enjoyed by many! I recommend this novel to all fans of the author, as well as the thrill/mystery genre readers. This book will not disappoint. I can say that about all of her books as well.

    Excellent Read!

Staub is one of my favorite authors and after reading her current books I decided to pick this older one up. Wow!!!!! It is fantastic and is the best book that I've read in a long time and right up there with my favorites. I had a very hard time putting this one down. There were times when I had to force myself to go to bed and stop reading. It is suspenseful and interesting. The killer and plot are usually pretty easy to figure out but not in this book. Just when you think you know......you don't. Fantastic!!!!

    WOW!!

I am a big fan of Staub's and if I wasn t before, then this book would have made me one. I was so amazed and shocked at the ending because she did such a tremendous job concealing the identity of the murderer. I couldn t hardley put the book down. Even though there were so many charactors throughout the book, I was able to feel like I knew each one of them and could relate to there lives. This is by far one of my favorite books and I would recomend anyone with a thirst for scandal and mystery to read it. It will satisfy that craving.

One of the Best Mysteries I've ever read!

I read this book several years ago and have re-read it and given several copies to friends. I read mysteries frequently and usually decipher the plot and the guilty character early in the book. Ms. Staub's books usually stump the reader and she's such a delightful writer. I'm always on the edge of the chair, waiting to read her latest book and the first in line to purchase it.

Another page turner from Wendy Corsi Staub!

THE LAST TO KNOW is a suspenseful, engrossing novel. Like Mary Higgins Clark, Ms. Staub has the knack for keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Although the book involves a serial killer, Ms. Staub manages to build suspense without resorting to explicit descriptions of the killer's violent crimes. Be sure to read Wendy Corsi Staub's other fine novels.

Completely riveting - it'll keep you up all night!

This book kept me up all night. I put it down several times but kept picking it back up... I literally could not go to sleep until I finished the book. It kept me guessing to the very end...I first discovered Mrs. Staub's work with her novel FADE TO BLACK. I have purchased and devoured her suspense novels as soon as they are available. I am now awaiting her 2002 release with great anticipation! I have also introduced her young adult novels to many of the teens in my community. If you like the writing style of Mary Higgins Clark, Carlene Thompson, Helen Myers and Erica Spindler then you will love this book.

Staub is a great storyteller!  Found myself thinking about the next part of the story during work.  This is my fifth book by Staub, all in a row, and I'm hoping the remaining ones will be just as compelling!

    TMI but well written

Tedious in some places but must say the last few chapters made it worth the ride! Loved the ending. If there had not been so much useless dialogue, I would have given it a higher rating
