Meet the Author

Andrew J. McClurg is a law professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he has won numerous awards for his teaching and scholarly publications. He has also served as a visiting law professor at Golden Gate University, the University of Colorado and Wake Forest University.

His popular legal humor column, Harmless Error: A Truly Minority View on the Law, appears each month in the American Bar Association Journal, the world's most widely-circulated legal magazine. Visit his legal humor web site

McClurg grew up in Hollywood, Florida, where he misspent his youth playing pinball at the beach and cruising around listening to eight-track tapes at high volume. He graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in journalism and law and an unhealthy obsession with the Florida Gator football team. After law school, he worked as a judicial law clerk for a federal judge and four years as a trial lawyer before entering academia.

His primary areas of legal expertise are torts and products liability. He has been quoted as a legal expert by National Public Radio, Time, U.S. News & World Report, the New York Times, Washington Post, Miami Herald, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and many others. His articles have been cited in more than 100 different law reviews.

McClurg is also a leading scholar and lecturer in firearms policy. His co-authored textbook, Gun Control and Gun Rights, will be published in 2002 by the New York University Press.
