Leigh Becker is a college student with a love of manga comics and no real plans for what to do with her life. She envies her lifelong friend, Andy Tanaka's rich family heritage and is more than willing to help him uncover the mystery of a dust lacquered box he found in a storage shed on his family's flower farm.
A pair of antique swords, some silk robes, and a mysterious scroll written in Japanese. What ties do these items have with his family? And why was the trunk hidden away instead of being revered as a family heirloom? Leigh and Andy are eager to find the answer not realizing that not everyone is eager for the truth to come out.
This is a story about friendship, family, and rich tradition. Ms. Kiyono writes with strong characterization and rich description. A truly enjoyable read. I hope she will write more about this interesting family!
