Overview

Morghan Stanley thinks today is going to be just another typical day on the job--until the hammer blow to the head that knocks him unconscious. And then he wakes up, bound in the basement, and the beautiful woman beside him tells him she’s going to exorcise the demon living inside him. Even if it kills him.

Horror author C. Dennis Moore presents “The Legend of Mr. Cairo”, an ancient evil that spends the centuries moving from host to host, a creature that specializes in torture and pain. But a secret organization has been tracking him through the years, intent on ending Mr. Cairo’s evil once and for all.

This TERRIBLE THRILLS sampler is backed with two bonus stories, “Preparations” and “Astrid Like a Candle”. These stories tell different versions of one situation. In the first, Moore’s first published story, Mr. Seagle is making funeral arrangements for his wife, but things take a decidedly strange turn when the funeral director asks for the rib spreader. And in “Astrid Like a Candle”, Mr. Seagle wakes up to find himself in the coffin with his dead wife, but the cancer that took her life is alive and well.
