Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The author uses the metaphor of the familiar children's building blocks to create Brick by brick a story of Christian discipleship and relationships in community. "Ultimately the LEGO® Principle boils down to a question of values," he writes. Every spiritual connection humans have in the world comes through ideals that flow from knowing God and treating each other as we want to be treated. Bonifacio, a minister in a Manila church, uses the Bible, the church fathers, his own family stories, and many contemporary Christian writers, to create vivid stories for readers. Bonifacio (The Promise No One Wants) goes back to the creation and evolution of LEGO® building blocks to illustrate his ideas about following Christ. Each chapter ends with a LEGO® Lesson, providing a moral compass about how to live the Christian life. This is a book of simple truths about everyday discipleship that will appeal to an evangelical Christian audience. (Sept.)

I grew up in Church so the applying, practicing and living out the great commission of “discipleship” should come relatively easy to me. Yet, I find myself wondering why so many of the church programs, activities, events and strategies that I’m committed to don’t work and why I find myself frustrated and feeling like something’s not right.

This book unpacked the essence of discipleship in a simple and rudimentary way that it became the “missing Lego piece” in my paradigm of discipleship. The principles that I learned led me to recalibrate my beliefs and values and more importantly, my walk with God. Eventually, the wisdom Pastor Joey imparted changed my view about my relationships with God and people. And since, “Discipleship is Relationship”, it transformed everything I knew about Discipleship.

Buy and read this book! I read my copy two times and I still feel like I need to keep reading it to fully grasp the profound simplicity of making the great commission a day-to-day reality.
