The Woman Who Would Be Empress: The author tells the amazing and little-told story of Mao's wife and widow, a woman responsible for much of the horrors of the Cultural Revolution.Highly recommended.

I found this book very good. If you know something of the times of Mao and the Cultural Revolution it is even more engaging. If you don't, it will whet your appetite for more. It was a very in depth look at Jing Qing's personality without going too in depth to the horrors of the Cultural Revolution. Just enough to make you explore more. Was this review helpful?
